3 Introduction All students work at different speeds. Many take about the same amount of time to finish their work. Some are slower than others, and some are faster than others. You ve probably been asked, I m done, what do I do now? more times than you can count. But what s a teacher to do when one or more students finish early? The activity pages in 101 Activities for Fast Finishers are the answer. The 101 activities in this book focus on language arts, math, and critical thinking, and are divided as follows: (35 activities) Mind-Bender Math (35 activities) Beyond Brainy (31 activities) Each activity has been labeled with an approximate amount of time that it will take students to complete. The estimated times range from 5 to 20. It is recommended that you copy, in advance, several pages representing the different times, and have them on hand to distribute, as needed.
