An Artefact is a more granular architectural work product that describes architecture from a specific viewpoint. A Building Block represents a (potentially re-usable) component of business, IT, or architectural capability that can be combined with other building blocks to deliver architectures and solutions 14

24 Ultimately, the use of content framework will help to realise the benefits of Enterprise : Determine what to do to address business objectives Determine the sequence and priority of change activity Communicate and agree an approach for change Provide visibility of what change is happening right now Accelerate projects, particularly in start-up Prevent overlap and contradiction between projects Help more projects to deliver the desired business outcome Incrementally evolve towards an environment that is simpler and more flexible 24
