8 Typical objections Technology can fail in the middle of the session. People multitask during online sessions. I m not able to observe participants body language or eye contact to ensure that they are with me and learning. Learners don t have the attention span to stay online and stay interested. It s hard to keep track of everything that s happening during a session. My content won t work in this format. I don t like it. I can t connect with learners and build rapport like I can in person. It s easy for you. I can t do it. What I do isn t training, I do demos. My students don t want to participate. What does she need from you? She needs you to make it easy for her to successfully deliver her message in an online format Successful presenters need: 1. Reassurance 2. Comprehension 3. Structure 4. 16 To set up your audio 1. Use a headset. Desktop mics are noisy! 2. In the Camera and Voice pod, click the Start my camera and voice button 3. click Allow 4. Once you start the Camera and Voice, your mic is automatically locked ON (displays dark grey). Click the Hands Free (padlock) button to turn OFF. Control your own Microphone In the Camera and Voice pod, use the Hands Free (padlock) button to control your Microphone. When the button is darker grey or pushed in, your microphone is ON. Click the Hands Free (padlock) whenever you re not talking to turn the mic OFF. Adjust your microphone volume Right-click on a slide in Acrobat Connect, and choose Settings Click the blue microphone tab at the bottom (if necessary) to access Record audio controls Speak into the mic while moving the Record Volume slider. Click Close after the green bar on the left starts turning red. Page 15
