Basic and applied research projects can be funded (national rules apply) The project coordinator has to ensure that all consortium partners are eligible for funding and provide the necessary information as requested by the national regulations, to ensure the eligibility of the proposal

24 ERA-MIN eligibility criteria Contacting your national agency is a mandatory requirement 1 Full proposal submitted before deadline: 17th June 2014, at CEST 2 Application complete in english (Form A), Project description max. 22 pages excluding annexes: All fields completed and all required forms -Form B mandatory, Form C mandatory (if applicable) and national forms mandatory (if applicable) uploaded onto the ERA- MIN ESS 3 Three partners from at least two Call Funding countries 4 At least one of the partners in the consortium must come from 5 one of the countries participating in the Call: Finland; France; Hungary; Poland; Portugal; Romania; Slovakia; Spain; Sweden; Turkey; Coordinator from a Call Funding country 6 Project duration between 12 and 36 months 7 Participants eligible for financial support under the national rules (includes relevance for the national programmes). 24

25 Recommendationsfor project consortia 1 Consortia addressing in an integrated manner technological topics in conjunction with environmental and social aspects, as well as public policy support and mineral intelligence, are particularly encouraged. 2 Consortia involving both academic and industrial organizations are particularly encouraged to apply. 3 No maximum number of applicants; The consortia size suited for the level and complexity of the project and each partner should have a significant contribution for the transnational added value of collaboration (include researcher mobility, joint graduation,etc). 4 No budget limit for project proposal; Balanced consortia; the contribution of one country to the collaborative project should not exceed 70% of the total project costs and partner s budget must be reasonable and within national funding limits (if any). 5 Cooperation with organisations based in ERA-MIN countries not participating in the Call is particularly encouraged, as well as with other European and countries outside Europe. 6 Consortia with more than two Call funding countries are encouraged. 25

As instituições têm de estar registadas em Portugal (NIF português). Cada Instituição PT é instituição proponente. 3 Despesas elegíveis para financiamento -Regulamento de acesso a financiamento de projetos de IC&DT ( 4 Financiamento 100 % -instituições publicas ou privadas sem fins lucrativos Financiamento 50 % dos custos elegíveis empresas Uma empresa PT pode ser coordenadora ou ser a unica parceira numa proposta transnacional 26

Para projetos de duração meses Euros. 6 Os projetos selecionados com participação portuguesa sópodem ter início a partir de Maio Cada instituição proponente tem de fazer uma submissão formal da parte portuguesa do projeto no portal da FCT. O compromisso financeiro da FCT para apoiar todos os tópicos é de Euros. Espera-se financiar 3-4 projetos transnacionais com participação portuguesa 27

Centralized peer review evaluation process: three independent reviewers for proposal (one appointed as rapporteur) selected by expertise and proposal content Evaluation panel meeting to make a ranking list recommendation for funding 29
