No age breakdowns within the events. Awards: Individual - Medals 1 st - 3 rd Ribbons 4 th 8 th places Relays Medals 1 st - 3 rd Ribbons 4 th 8 th places Limits: Distance events will be swum fastest to slowest, alternating between 800 and 1500 events. The session will have a 30 minute warmup and session length is limited to 3 hours. A warmup pool will be available during Friday session. Management reserves the right to swim 2 swimmers per lane to keep within the time limits. 400 M individual events will be swum as timed finals. 3 Eligibility: Swimmers must be registered with Swim Ontario as competitive. Meet Fees: $9.00 per individual swim (except 800 and 1500) $12 for 800 and 1500 events $12.00 per relay Deck entries $10.00 / $15.00 Make cheque payable to Wilmot Aquatic Aces. Cheques should be given to the Meet Manager prior to the beginning of the first session. Scratch Rule: Scratches are to be submitted no later than 30 minutes after the start of warm up; swimmers who do not swim any heat for which they are seeded after that time will not be subject to a scratch penalty. Scratches for finals must be handed in 30 minutes after completion of the morning session. Any swimmer failing to show for a final race will be scratched from all final events in which they are entered in that session. Rules: The FINA start rule is in effect. Swim Ontario safety procedures apply. SNC warm up procedures will be followed as included. Meet Officials will provide a safe environment and an organized competition. We are not responsible for the supervision of the athletes during the competition and especially, during session break. Coaches are responsible for their swimmers conduct and knowledge of the Safety Procedure Rules. Only swimmers, certified coaches and officials are allowed on deck. NO OTHER PERSONS ARE PERMITTED ON DECK unless expressly authorized by Meet Management. Photographers must obtain authorization from Meet Management before access to deck is granted. The only meet package that will be considered as valid will be the most current version found on Age will be determined as of the first day of the meet Split Times: Meet management requires that any coach wishing to rely on a time achieved by the swimmer for an interval shorter than the total distance of the event shall so advise the Referee prior to the commencement of the session in question. Meet Results: All meet results will be uploaded to within two days of the conclusion of the competition. Meet management reserves the right to alter warm up times and start times based on entries received to accommodate numbers. 3

4 SWIMMING CANADA COMPETITION WARM-UP SAFETY PROCEDURES Meet Management for all sanctioned Canadian swimming competition must ensure the following safety procedures are applied. It is incumbent on coaches, swimmers, and officials to comply with these procedures during all scheduled warm-up periods. Coaches are requested to encourage swimmers to cooperate with Safety Marshals. GENERAL WARM-UP: Swimmers must enter the water FEET FIRST in a cautious manner, entering from a start or turn end only and from a standing or sitting position. Running on the pool deck and running entries into the pool tank are prohibited. Meet Management may designate the use of sprint or pace lanes during the scheduled warm-up time. Any such lane usage must be communicated either in pre-competition handout, announcement or deck signage. Diving starts shall be permitted only in designated sprint lanes. Only one-way swimming from the start end of sprint lanes is permitted. Notices or barriers must be placed on starting blocks to indicate no diving during warm-up. EQUIPMENT: Kick Boards, Pull-Buoys, Ankle Bands, and Snorkels are permitted for use in the scheduled warm-up time. Meet Management may permit use of tubing or cord assisted sprinting in designated lanes and during specific times of the warm-up only. Coaches are responsible for equipment reliability and use. Hand paddles, drag chutes, and flippers / fins are not permitted during any warm-up at any time. VIOLATIONS: Swimmers witnessed by a Safety Marshal diving or entering the water in a dangerous fashion will be removed without warning from their first event following the warm-up period in which the violation occurred. In the case of a second offense during the same competition the swimmer will be removed from the competition in its entirety. A provincial disciplinary action or report may be filed. SAFETY MARSHALS: The Safety Marshal is a trained position designated by Meet Management. Safety Marshals shall: Be visible by safety vest Be situated at each end of the competition tank and when applicable, similarly situated in designated warm-up tanks when pre-competition warm-ups are scheduled. Actively monitor all scheduled warm-up periods. Ensure participants comply with warm-up safety procedures and report violations to the Referee. PARA-SWIMMER NOTIFICATION: Coaches are requested to notify Safety Marshals of any Para-swimmers participating in warm-ups where necessary and at the coach s discretion. The following statement must appear in all Swimming Canada sanctioned meet information and posted notices: SWIMMING CANADA WARM-UP COMPETITION SAFETY PROCEDURES WILL BE IN EFFECT AT THIS MEET. 4

5 SNC Swim Suit Policy September 2009 Effective September 1, 2009, all swimwear worn in swimming competitions sanctioned under the authority of Swimming Canada must conform to the January 1, 2010 FINA swimwear approval guidelines as listed below. MATERIAL The material of swimwear will definitively be constituted only by textile fabric(s). The FINA definition of textile currently is: Material consisting of, natural and/or synthetic, individual and non- consolidated yarns used to constitute a fabric by weaving, knitting, and/or braiding. SHAPE MEN: swimwear shall not extend above the navel or below the knee. WOMEN: swimwear shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulder, nor extend below knee. No zippers or other fastening system is allowed. USE Swimmers shall wear only one swimsuit, taping is not permitted. CONSISTENCY Swimwear effectively manufactured and used shall correspond to and be fully consistent with FINA approved samples. Any modification before use (including impregnation) is prohibited. Moreover, there shall be no variation/modification for individual swimmers. SWON/SNC Record Policy: Required for ALL New National and Provincial records National and Provincial Record forms to include: Referees must sign the new record application form confirming that a swimmer was wearing a legal suit when a record was created. Coaches will be notified that (record) swimmers must report to the session referee (meet referee) for suit verification. Referees must carry a signoff sheet and list of FINA approved suits (see SNC website). Record applications will not be accepted unless form is properly completed. 5

6 Wilmot Aquatic Centre Facility/ Pool Rules for Swim meets All patrons must obey instructions from lifeguards and facility staff. Failure to comply with these rules may result in the loss of privileges at this facility Only Swimmers, Coaches and meet officials are allowed on the pool deck The lower viewing gallery is for swimmers and coaches only. Please eat your snacks and have your drinks in this area. (no food or drinks are permitted on the pool deck) Remember to use track crossings and look before you cross Please be aware and respectful of the other patrons in the facility. Please pick up all garbage and personal belongings. This is a smoke-free facility Areas of this facility are monitored by video surveillance Parents/ Coaches are reminded that they are responsible for the proper conduct of their children/ players while in this facility. All Children must be in the care of an adult Each Visitor is responsible for his/her own personal health, medical, dental and accident insurance coverage. Please recognize and accept the risks inherent in the activity. (POOL has a medical admission rule, please see pool rules) Unauthorized games such as ball hockey, rollerblading, skate boarding, playing catch, tag, mini-sticks, roller shoes/heelys, etc. are not allowed. Sticks and pucks, ball, etc are NOT permitted anywhere other than the arena playing surfaces. Visitors found engaged in any of the above activities may be asked to leave the premises. Shoes must be worn outside of pool deck or change rooms To ensure the safety and privacy of our patrons, the Township of Wilmot prohibits the use of cellular telephones and personal digital assistants (PDA s) in all public change room, locker room and washroom facilities. 6
