2 SENOTIUM 2016 On behalf of the JCI Norwegian Senate, we have the pleasure to welcome all our Senator friends to the 2016 Senotium. Panorama view from Varden, above Molde. The famous Atlantic Road. The venue The town of Molde and the island are located at 62 o north. The theme for this Senotium is culture and history in this coastal area. Adventurer Ragnar Thorseth's 18 th century fishing village with its original wharves, traditional fishermen's shacks and bakery. The seaward side of this 10-acre island faces directly onto the ocean and the shipping channels. On the landward side there is a sheltered natural harbor with thirty or so buildings, several dating from the 17 th and 18 th centuries. is about 45 minutes' drive from Molde, and there will be a common transportation from the airport or town center to on Friday afternoon. The bus will drive over the Atlantic road - "Voted the world s most beautiful road trip in the British The Guardian. The road winds its way over rocks and reefs right out in the ocean." From the bus stop at the Atlantic Road, is reached by a short boat trip. The purpose of the Senotium It is an informal gathering of Norwegian Senators, their spouses and Senator friends from all over the world. The dress code is relaxed, with an informal dinner on Saturday with local cuisine and some light entertainment. Temperatures and weather The average day time temperature in this area is o C in first half of September. Bring some warm clothes, sensible shoes and a raincoat. Accomodation Everyone will stay at the same place; Havstuer. Single rooms and double rooms are offered - all in nice, cosy cabin-like buildings. "Bergtatt" - a magnificent marble mine Senator bar A Senator Bar will be provided in one of the biggest cabins. The bar opens on Friday evening, after the dinner. The bar will be open also after the dinner on Saturday.

3 Travel information. The small town of Molde, Norway is located in the Møre og Romsdal County at 62 degrees north. The town has about inhabitants. Most visitors to Molde arrive by plane. The flight time from Oslo is about 55 minutes. If you prefer to extend your Senotium participation, either before or after, we can recommend a cruise on Hurtigruten. It sails daily between Bergen and Kirkenes. Hurtigruten dock in the town centre of Molde. Airport. Molde airport has connections to Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Stord - operated by SAS, Norwegian and Wideroe. Transportation to and from the Molde airport.
