1 Hello Hockey Parents, We are pleased to announce that the Laker Hockey Academy will be coming back to Southdale Arena this summer and fall We look forward to training and developing the next generation of St.Boniface Hockey players. The Academy plans to run daytime summer camps, fall pre-conditioning camps, winter hockey skills programs, and morning breakfast club skates. The intention of the Academy will be to provide players in the area an opportunity to develop their skills with well run programs in an enthusiastic environment. The on ice instruction will be led by Mike Bettens and Larry Woo. Both have extensive playing and coaching backgrounds and both have worked with a number of teams in the St. Boniface and Southdale area. Last year s camp sold out quickly, so register early to secure your spot! There will be limited spaces for all programs so early registration will be important. All camps and programs will be made available to St. Boniface players first.

2 SKILLS AND PLAY CAMP - AUGUST 20-24, 2012 / COST $399 +GST FOR 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000 BORN PLAYERS 8 HOUR DAY PROGRAM, 8AM 4PM -75 minutes of skill development in the morning -60 minute scrimmage in the afternoon -Early drop off 7:30AM and late pick up 4:30PM times available for this camp The ice sessions will focus on skating, puck control, passing, shooting, and checking. Players will have lots of puck time and lots of opportunity to handle and shoot pucks. The scrimmage will be used as a reinforcement of the skills learned and an opportunity for the players to have some unstructured play. ALL FEMALE SKILLS CAMP - AUGUST 20-24, 2012 / COST $289 +GST FOR 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999 AND 1998 BORN PLAYERS 6 HOUR DAY PROGRAM, 9AM 3PM -75 minutes of skill development in the morning -60 minute of shooting and stick handling in skill pad -60 minute of hockey specific off ice training This program has been created specific for females. The program focuses on puck handling and shooting. Small groups will be created to ensure that the players maximize time with the puck. Players will focus on skill development and understanding situational game tactics.

3 SUMMER AAA PREP CAMP/COST $279 +GST AUGUST 20 TO AUGUST 31 (NO WEEKENDS) 6:00 PM DAILY ICE TIME -Age groups 1998 and This camp will offer each player over 10 hrs of on ice activity. August 20 Monday 1.5 hours, and 1 hour off ice August 21 Tuesday 1.5 hours, and 1 hour off ice August 23 Thursday 1.5 hours, and 1 hour off ice August 26 Sunday 1.5 hours, and 1 hour off ice August 27 Monday 1.5 hours, and 1 hour off ice August 29 Wednesday 1.5 hours, and 1 hour off ice August 30 Thursday 1.5 hours, and 1 hour off ice -In addition, there will be 7-60 minute off ice sessions with certified physical trainer/ AAA Bantam Head Coach Rob Smith -This camp will also provide players with a pre camp workout plan. DMEN/FORWARDS CAMP - AUGUST 27-AUGUST 31 / COST $399 +GST FOR 2004, 2003 AND 2002 BORN PLAYERS 8 HOUR DAY PROGRAM, 8AM 4PM -75 minutes of skill development in the morning -60 minute scrimmage in the afternoon -Early drop off 7:30AM and late pick up 4:30PM times available for this camp -All players will focus on skating, puck control, passing, shooting, and checking and how it relates to their position. DMen and Forwards will split into two groups in the morning working on skills and specific position concepts. In the afternoon, the two groups will come together to scrimmage and reinforce the skills and concepts learned

4 CONTACT AND SKILLS CAMP - AUGUST 27-AUGUST 31 / COST $399 +GST FOR 2001AND 2000 BORN PLAYERS 8 HOUR DAY PROGRAM, 8AM 4PM -75 minutes of skill development and contact in the morning -60 minute scrimmage in the afternoon -Early drop off 7:30AM and late pick up 4:30PM times available for this camp Players will focus on all their basic skills but with an element of contact involved. Players will be introduced to contact and will be put into safe situations where contact will occur. Proper body position will be taught as to apply and absorb contact. Players will leave this week with confidence in hitting and taking hits. They will be informed of the safety issues and will be put through plenty of repetitions to ensure they are ready for their upcoming season.

5 FALL PRE-SEASON DEVELOPMENT AND CONDITIONING CAMPS / COST $149 SEPTEMBER 3 TO START OF TRYOUTS (Approx. September 15) -Limited to 28 players and 4 goalies -Age groups 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, All Girls , All Girls The camp will offer 8 hours of on ice instruction *The 2000 and 2001 age group will only be 6 hours of on ice instruction and the cost is $ This camp will end before AA tryouts. Players will focus on conditioning and skill development. The program will prepare players for their upcoming tryouts and evaluations.
