2 Our Mission Statement To provide young boys and girls in communities across Alberta with an opportunity to set goals, work hard, and have fun while pursuing and achieving their goals both on and off the ice. The staff at Aim High Hockey is committed to providing the best possible instruction to young ice hockey players of all ages and skill levels. Our experienced instructors work hard to teach and challenge these players both on and off the ice. We offer a comprehensive program where participants are encouraged to set goals and work hard to achieve them. Our objective is to provide each boy or girl with the opportunity to improve their skills and apply the lessons learned to every day life. All of our instructors have played at the post secondary level and have been fortunate to benefit from scholarships both academic and athletic. Aim High Hockey believes education is very important and to show this, each year we allocate money towards an academic scholarship for graduates of our camps from each community.

3 ABOUT US Aim High Hockey is a new company that recognizes smaller communities are not being offered the same quality of summer hockey camps as the larger cities. Instead of having to travel to these cities, we offer camps directly to the community. By doing this we have the chance to pass on our hockey knowledge to the next generation of players. Our staff consists of University students who have played at the Major Junior, College and University levels. Each member is an asset as a role model possessing knowledge and skills relevant to success on the ice and in the pursuit of life goals. Our team offers a plethora of experience, both on and off the ice, providing ample opportunity for each player to learn and develop into an outstanding athlete and individual.

4 Staff Dan Waschuk Program Leader Chris Giacobbo Instructor/ Coordinator Dan has played hockey for over 20 years and in that time he has had four successful seasons in the WHL with the Regina Pats and Saskatoon Blades as well as he recently captained the Grant MacEwan Men s University hockey team. He has participated in a Memorial Cup, Played on the ACAC all star team and has won awards as the top scorer and Molson Cup three star trophy winner as a member of the Regina Pats. Over the last five years his focus has shifted from playing to coaching and he has become involved with a number of hockey companies who run summer hockey camps. He has run hockey camps for other companies in High Level, Edmonton, Leduc and Athabasca. He is currently enrolled in University to become a Sport Psychologist where he can his experiences in sport as well as determine more effective ways of coaching in youth sport. Chris played 3 years in the Alberta Junior A Hockey League as a member of the Sherwood Park Crusaders Hockey Club. Following the AJHL, he went on to play three years with Grant MacEwan University Men s Hockey team as Assistant Captain. Chris was a member of the ACAC All-Star team and has won Defensive Player of the Year awards on multiple occasions. Growing up in a small community has encouraged him to want to provide young athletes all the same opportunities available to those in the big cities. Chris has been an Instructor at St. FX & St. Thomas More Hockey Academies, various checking and shooting clinics, and has coached hockey camps in Edmonton, High Level, and recently started a camp in Athabasca. Tyler Hennessey Coach Tyler was a four year player of the Canadian Junior A Hockey league, playing in the SJHL and the MJHL serving as the team captain. He just finished his fourth year including two years as captain for the MacEwan Griffins. Tyler also has a great deal of coaching experience. He has his Coach level 1 and 2 as well as his Intermediate Coach level certificates. Tyler has coached levels such as; Atom AA, Bantam AAA, Midget AAA. Tyler is also an on ice instructor at St. Edmonds Hockey Academy. He has instructed many hockey schools all over Canada

5 Staff Shawn King Coach Shawn played 2 years of junior hockey for the Strathcona Sabres as an assistant captain and a member of the CJHL all-star team. For the last 3 years he has played for Grant MacEwan University Griffins, where he received the Most Improved Player award in his first year. Shawn is a certified personal trainer in which he received at NAIT in the personal fitness trainer diploma program. Shawn worked one year with the NAIT OOKS as the Summer Hockey Program Coordinator. He has also spent one year volunteering his time by coaching the Strathcona Warriors Midget 15 hockey team. While Shawn was at NAIT he did part of his practicum at St. Thomas Moore Hockey School as both an instructor and dry land trainer. Currently, Shawn is in a Bachelor of Science at MacEwan University working towards becoming a Chiropractor. Chase Campbell Coach Chase played his Major Junior Hockey in both the AJHL and SJHL.. He was a member of the Bonneyville Pontiacs as well as the Humbolt Broncos and Sherwood Park Crusaders. After completing his junior hockey, Chase played three years for the Grant MacEwan Griffins where he was an assistant captain in his last year. Currently Chase is pursuing a degree in Medicine at the University of Alberta. Greg Doll Coach Greg is coming off of his sophomore year with the MacEwan University Griffins, this past year Greg served as an Assistant Captain. Previously Greg Played for the Bonneyville Pontiacs of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. Greg has worked for different hockey schools, including in his home town of Peace River, AB.

6 What We Offer Aim High Hockey offers week long hockey camps, specialty camps as well as weekly after school programs from May through August. Weekly camps generally take place in the summer months when there is no school. Our camps are open to both males and females aged Camps will be divided up based on the amount of players registered. The instructor to player ratio is about 1:7 to provide maximum learning benefit to the players. The day camps are set up so that each day there is a focus on learning a new skill which builds upon the previous day. We also have the players participate in off-ice workouts and education sessions where we teach concepts like goal setting, nutrition, and the importance of education. One unique thing about these education sessions is that we encourage members in the community to contribute to these discussions. Lunches and snacks are also provided for the children to keep their energy levels high.

7 Daily Schedules Daily schedules are as follows: 8:30-9:45am First on ice session (Power Skating) 10:15-11:30am Off-ice training (Running, Quick Feet Drills) 11:30-12:00 pm Lunch (Provided) 12:00-1:30 pm Education Session 1:30-2:30 pm Afternoon activity (Soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, etc.) 2:45-4:00 pm Second on-ice session (Skills\Games) Customized sessions may include, power skating, skills, conditioning, hitting clinics or a combination of all of these. Customized sessions can also take place during the winter months if requested.

8 What To Bring Players need to have full hockey equipment for all on-ice sessions. This includes skates, shin pads, jock strap, pants, shoulder pads, elbow pads, neck guard, gloves and helmet. Jerseys for each player will be provided by Aim High Hockey. For the off-ice sessions, players need to have work out shoes, t-shirts and shorts. A positive attitude and a willingness to work hard.

9 Camp Costs In order for us to generate a cost per child it is essential for us to communicate back and fourth with the community officials. There are many variables that influence the cost of these camps including but not limited to, insurance, ice costs, jerseys, etc
