We offer 10 different levels of classes including ESL literacy. Students learn how to improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. All students have a language test before starting classes. Instructors give students feed-back on their progress at the end of each term. Some of the grammar points which will be reviewed are verb forms and tenses, subordinate clauses, noun clauses and subject verb agreement. WRITING SKILLS: ESSAY BASICS - PART 2 T hursdays 6:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. M a y 2 to Ju ne 20, C a n a d i a n L a n g u a g e B e n c h m a r k 5 t o C a n a d i a n L a n g u a g e B e n c h m a r k 8 This course will help those who wish to improve their writing skills for study or for work. Learn how to write short essays. Students will learn how to write introductory paragraphs, develop and support a point of view, and create effective concluding paragraphs. N I G H T CLASSE S T E S T PREPARATION ACADEMIC TEST PREPARATION Preparation strategies for TOEFL and IELTS Thursdays 6:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. April 25 to June 13, 2013 C a n a d i a n L a n g u a g e B e n c h m a r k 6 t o C a n a d i a n L a n g u a g e B e n c h m a r k 9 This course provides an overview of TOEFL and IELTS. The knowledge and strategies students need to be successful on these tests will be presented and practiced. Please note that IELTS is accepted as proof of language ability when applying for Canadian citizenship. 5

It reviews the essential knowledge needed to improve English pronunciation and provides practice speaking with others about interesting and current topics. CANADIAN IDIOMS AND EXPRESSIONS T uesd a ys 6:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. April 23 to June 11, 2013 C a n a d i a n L a n g u a g e B e n c h m a r k 5 t o C a n a d i a n L a n g u a g e B e n c h m a r k 8 This course will improve students understanding of common Canadian idioms and expressions used in conversation and the media. Students will develop their listening comprehension skills, increase their understanding of the meaning of idioms and expressions, and practice using them in conversation and role play. WORKING WITH YOUR ACCENT PART 2 W ednesdays 6:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. April 24 to June 12, 2013 C a n a d i a n L a n g u a g e B e n c h m a r k 5 t o C a n a d i a n L a n g u a g e B e n c h m a r k 8 The course is designed for those who are comfortable expressing themselves in English, but feel that their pronunciation and intonation needs improvement.
