2 Office profil Unsere Tätigkeitsfelder History 1993 Planungsbüro reicher haase architekten in Aachen In 1993, Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Christa Reicher and Dipl.- Ing. Joachim Haase founded the firm reicher haase associierte GmbH in Aachen. Since then, the firm has distinguished itself in a wide variety of projects both nationally and internationally. Numerous successes in competitions have confirmed the quality of their urban design and architectural work. The main focus of their activities is on urban design, architecture and process management. A wide spectrum of topics is processed to do this. Developing concise urban planning and architectural guidelines as well as experimenting with spatial and syntactic relations apply to all projects. In the specific draft the spatial pattern is combined with the user s individual wishes. 5 regional concepts... developing a region s prospects On a regional scale we develop conceptions for structural problems and restructuring processes. It is our task to sharpen the region s profile and to design a distinctive label for it, so as to picture it s prospects with concrete strategies. The project Nordstad, depicted here, situated in the North of Luxembourg, defines of the potentials of adjacent small towns as an urban network, to develop them into a spatial figure in the regional context. 7 urban planning... experimenting with overall conceptions One of the main focuses of our work is the formulation of distinctive, urban development conceptions and the experimentation with spatial and syntactic correlations. A robust urban development framework is the basis for the high quality architectural imprint of any location. The project RWTH Aachen-Campus in Aachen, Germany, depicted here, consists of the definition of the future structure and shape, leading from an overall concept to urban design details for the new campus area. 9 urban design... creating space Urban design has become a main focus of our enterprise through interdisciplinary collaboration with landscape architects. A strong focus on a town s individual strengths, often developed from historical analogies, leads to the formulation of a town s character and makes it feasible to experience. The project Ahaus, depicted here, consist of the formulation and implementation of a large scale concept for the prospective development of the city centre, up to certain urban development details in the pedestrian zone. 11 Structural design... between context and object In the line of structural design we develop aesthetically ambitious solutions, cooperating closely with specialized civil engineers. The respective location with its characteristic parameters leaves its imprint on the object, with due consideration of the individual wishes of the occupants. The project EnnepeFinanzCenter in Gevelsberg is a perfect example for a building designed on the basis of an urban development competition. The new building for the Sparkasse Gevelsberg has been designed as the first component of an overall conception. In the summer of 2007 the second component, the Stadtterasse ( City Terrace ) as an entrance to the future Ennepe Park, has been completed. 13 Redevelopment Rebuilding... new meaning through respect With regards to a reasonable future prospect we consider the utilization of existing substance of building a matter of increasing importance. The interference in the existing structure serves the objective to enhance the values and add new meaning. The depicted project Maison Mirkes in Vianden, Luxembourg, a reconstruction procedure including an extension building to an old private guesthouse, is a good example of how Old and New can develop an inspiring dialogue. 15 International projects... new challenges In the course of the last few years international projects took more and more share of our area of operation, opening up completely new experiences to us: On the one hand making use of our experience while on the other taking in challenging new impulses. 17 Competition Management In addition to our core competences in the fields of urban planning and architecture we have been assigned with consultant and project management functions, including consulting and execution of quality assurance in the course of general development planning and the organization of competitions in the fields of urban planning, architecture and landscape planning. Besides the expert tasks concerning e.g. conceptual formulation, our services also include process management and public relations.
