1 CS131 Exam 2 Instruction on Completing and Submitting Your Answer This exam has 2 parts: 1) Multiple choice questions, 2) Designing a PowerPoint presentation. You must record your answer to the first part in the answer_sheet.docx file given to you. For the second part, you need to submit the PowerPoint documents that you have created based on the descriptions provided for the second part of the exam. To submit your exam 2, you must compress your answer sheet and the PowerPoint documents that you created into a single zip file, and name your zip file as yourfirstname_yourlastname_exam2.zip. Copy this zip file into the /incoming/cs0131/mehmud/exam_2 folder on the CS Department file server (ftp.cs.pitt.edu). Exam 2 Page 1 of 6

3 Part 2: Designing a PowerPoint Presentation 1. Start PowerPoint and open a new presentation. Save this presentation as Lastname_Firstname_Zoo_Visit replacing Lastname_Firstname with your last name and first name. 2. On Slide 1, type the title Visiting the Zoo Type your name for the subtitle. 3. On Slide 1, hide the background graphics and insert the picture p_pcpt_polar_bear as the background. 4. Select the title text and change the Word Art style to Fill Blue, Accent 1, Inner Shadow Accent Insert a new slide with Section Header layout. Type Our favorite family outing is in the text box. Type Going to the zoo! as the title. 6. Insert the SmartArt shape Continuous Arrow Process. Type Animals for the first text placeholder, Food for the second text placeholder, and Fun for the third text placeholder. 7. Change the color of the SmartArt shape to Transparent Gradient Range Accent Add another text placeholder after Fun, and type Rides 9. Select the SmartArt arrow and decrease it by two sizes. 10. Insert the picture p_pcpt_family as the background. Hide the background graphics. 11. Select the text that says Our favorite family outing is and change the font size to 28 and the font color to the standard color Blue. 12. Select the text that says Going to the zoo! and change the WordArt style to Gradient Fill - Black, Outline - White, Outer Shadow. 13. Insert a new slide with the Title and Content layout. 14. Type Our Favorite Zoo Animals for the title. 15. In the content section, type the following list (as bullet points): Polar Bears, Sea Lions, Bears, Monkeys, Giraffes After Giraffes, indent the list level and type Especially the baby giraffes! 16. Convert this list of text to the Vertical Picture Accent List SmartArt shape. If necessary, center align the last bullet points for Giraffes. For Polar Bears, insert picture p_pcpt_polar_bear. For Sea Lions, insert picture p_pcpt_lion. For Bears, enter picture p_pcpt_bear. For Monkeys, insert picture p_pcpt_monkey. For Giraffes, insert picture p_pcpt_giraffe. 17. Crop the picture shape to Rounded Rectangle. 20. Reuse Slides to insert all 4 slides from the p_pcpt_data1 file after Slide On Slide 5, change the bullets to numbers. 22. Insert the picture p_pcpt_lion. Change the table style to Light Style 1 - Accent Add the Convex effect to the table cells. 37. Search for a Sun clip art. Insert a 5-Point Star shape. Make the height of the star 1.17 and the width Duplicate the star three times. Move the stars so they line up horizontally under the WordArt text with space between each one. Select all the starts and align them by the middle. Distribute the stars horizontally so they line up in a row below the WordArt. 51. With Slide 9 still displayed, move it after Slide On Slide 1, add the Switch transition. Make the Duration of the transition 1.6. Select the option to advance the slide On Mouse Click. Apply these transition settings to all the slides. 53. On Slide 1, insert the Slide number. Select the option that will not show the slide number on the title slide. Apply this to all the slides. 54. On Slide 2, select the SmartArt and apply the Wheel Entrance animation. 6 55. Select the Title box that says Going to the zoo! and apply the Zoom entrance animation. Select the Start timing to be After Previous. 56. Reorder the animations so the Title comes first, and then the SmartArt diagram by changing the Start timing for the SmartArt to After Previous. 57. Change the theme of all the slides in the presentation to Adjacency. Change the color theme to Horizon. Change the theme Font to Median. 58. On the Notes and Handouts tab of the Header and Footer dialog box, insert the date and time to update automatically, the page number, and a footer with the filename. Apply this to all the slides.
