No Exceptions. 4) Post Entries MUST be made TWO HOURS PRIOR TO START OF THE SESSION. 9 ENTRY FORM INFORMATION Official Entry Form for this Show MUST be used; forms must be complete. ONE OWNER per Form. No HORSE may be entered on more than one Form. Include copies of REGISTRATION PAPERS for each horse entered.. Farm name may be used if the stable or farm is the bona fide owner appearing on the horse s registration papers. The owner must have an AHA Business membership and that owner AHA number must be used. The owner must have a USEF Farm ID# or Farm Recording Certificate and one of the owner s must be a qualified USEF member. Copies of AHA Business membership card, USEF Farm ID# or Certificate must be submitted with the entry. Horses entered in AMATEUR OWNER and JUNIOR OWNER classes must be registered in the name of competitor or member of competitor s family. Every Owner, Exhibitor, Trainer & Rider/Driver/Handler or his/her agent(s) must sign the back of the entry blank. In the case of a Rider/Driver/Handler under 18, his/her parent or guardian, or if not available, the trainer, must sign the entry blank on minor s behalf. Junior Owners are not eligible to sign as trainer adult must sign as trainer. Walk Trot riders must list their birthdates on the back of the entry form under the parent signature. If the address of Walk Trot rider is different than owner listed on entry form, please write the W/T rider address on the back of the entry form. Include copies of current AHA COMPETITION membership cards for Owner, Trainer, Rider, Handler, Driver, Junior Owner & Riders AND at least one current owner. 10 SHOW INFORMATION TBA (TO BE ANNOUNCED) CLASSES In an effort to be more exhibitor friendly and provide our exhibitors with classes that are not included in these show schedules, Red Bluff Show is offering FIVE TBA slots in the show on a first come, first served basis. ANY CLASS ON THE AHA CLASS LIST or that is recognized by AHA can be considered for a TBA class with the exception of Dressage, Sport Horse and Cutting. To activate a TBA class, an exhibitor must: 1) Select and name a class; 2) Enter the class by paying the class entry fee ($25 for Regular classes; $35 for Championship classes); and 3) Pay the class sponsorship fee (Regular classes $35 or Championship class $50). Once the class has been activated, all exhibitors will be informed by letter or by posting a notice in the show office at the show. At that time, all exhibitors will have the opportunity to enter the activated class at the regular class fee. Be advised if a Sweepstakes eligible point class is activated, the class will not count towards points for Sweepstakes payback program. Riders may wear riding attire; however show clothing is prohibited. Riders may not be cross entered in concurrent Class A Show. Horses may be cross entered in concurrent Class A Show with alternate rider. Riders are to be judged on Equitation, Horsemanship skills (ability to handle mount), Ringmanship (maneuverability and traffic management in show arena), and turnout (appearance of rider and grooming of horse). Horses may be of any breed or age. Horses will not be judged further than as the product of rider s horsemanship skills. In Obstacle classes, riders may be asked to maneuver around cones and over ground poles or a simple pattern designed by the judge to test the skills attributed to beginner/intermediate lesson students. EXAMPLE: Trot serpentine through cones, two point position over ground poles at the walk, demonstrate a figure eight or circle. (BOD 5/12) US EQUESTRIAN FEDERATION STATEMENT - Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) lead line; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. USEF MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS - Copies of every owner's, trainer's, rider's, driver's and breeding/inhand halter handler's current USEF Membership Cards MUST be included with the horse show entry form at the time of entry. If showing in Amateur classes, the card must have Amateur Certification included. If you do not have a copy of your current USEF membership card, you will have to pay $30.00 non refundable non member fee. If you are NOT a member of USEF, you MUST pay the appropriate non-member fee. Affidavits are no longer available. USEF Membership (adult & juniors) are $55 (with or without amateur certification). USEF AMATEUR CERTIFICATION - Every exhibitor who has reached his/her 18th birthday and competes in a class for amateurs under USEF rules must possess current amateur status issued by the USEF. A non-member may compete as an amateur upon payment of the non-member fee ($30) and a non-member amateur status ($30) or $60. USEF membership is $55 for an adult and may include the amateur status at no additional charge. Any person who has not reached his/her 18 th birthday is an amateur and will not be issued an amateur certification. ADMISSION TO RING/HEADERS - No person will be permitted to enter the ring except participants in the class, judges, show officials and their assistants. Attendants and grooms may enter the ring only when summoned by order of the judge. All headers must be properly attired and wearing an unmarked duster or smock to enter the ring. Exhibitors must provide their own duster or smock. AMATEUR OWNER FAMILY DEFINITION - An Amateur Owner Class is one in which every contestant is an Amateur and the rider or driver is the Owner or an Amateur Member of the owner's family. "Family" includes husband, wife, parent, step-parent, child, brother, step-child, sister, half-brother and sister, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, grandmother, grandfather and in-laws of the same relation as stated above. Combined ownership is NOT permitted in Amateur/Owner classes unless all owners are members of the same family. LEASED horses are NOT eligible. (USEF Article GR122 & GR136) 14

17 GENERAL INFORMATION ARABIAN BREEDER SWEEPSTAKES POINT PROGRAM INFORMATION - * (asterisks) located in front of the class number indicates classes that are Arabian Breeder Sweepstakes POINT classes and will have payback $$$ at end of the show year for horses properly nominated. Exhibitors must have paid the $ nomination fee (a one a year nomination fee) to AHA prior to the start of the show for the ABS classes to count towards Breeders Sweepstakes year end awards. Show personnel can not accept nominations at the show. Contact AHA today to nominate your Breeders Sweepstakes horse into the POINTS program for ABS classes are OPEN to ALL horses. Your horse does not have to be nominated in the Breeders Sweepstakes program to show in this class. Arabian Breeders Sweepstakes points cannot be earned from any class on the TBA class list. ARENA HOURS The arenas will be available for schooling as follows: Main Arena Open Thursday until 2:30 p.m. to set Trail Courses. Main Arena will be open each morning before classes start until 7:00 a.m. Main Arenas will be open after scheduled classes each day. Arenas will be open during lunch and dinner breaks, if times allow. Arena lights will be turned off at 10:00 p.m. on all days. ARENA INFORMATION The Main Arena is 100 X 250. Covered Warm Up Arena is 60 X 250. Outdoor arena 150 X 300 with roping chutes. Arena base is designed by Kiser Arena Specialists. CALIFORNIA DRUG FEE A mandatory $5.00 fee per horse is due for the California State Drug Testing. CRUELTY AND ABUSE - USEF GR839 & AR105 WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED AT ALL AHA RECOGNIZED COMPETITIONS. DISCIPLINE - Exhibitors are warned that any act of discourtesy to the officials of this show on the part of the owner/lessee/trainer/groom/rider/driver will disqualify the horse from adjudication. The management reserves the right to remove a horse, owner, lessee, trainer, groom, rider or driver from the show without being liable for compensation or damages. DOGS - Dogs may be brought to the Show Grounds, but must be on a leash at all times. DISQUALIFICATION - Any horse doctored in any way, artificially, improperly or unfairly prepared or tampered with before entering the show ring will be disqualified. If it is ascertained that any exhibitor has made or caused to be made, any false statement in regard to any animal or article exhibited or if any exhibitor shall attempt to interfere with the judges in the performance of their duties, he or she shall be excluded from competing, or exhibiting. In case any animal is disqualified, the winner of the next succeeding prize in the class shall take the prize that has been awarded to such disqualified animal & the lowest prize in the class shall go to the reserve number. FARRIER - The farrier will be available on the grounds during all scheduled sessions GATE RULE - Due to a full schedule of classes, the TWO-MINUTE limit after last call for a class will be strictly enforced. The gate will close 2 minutes after the first horse enters the ring or in cases with large classes taking more than 2 minutes, at the completion of final horse in the continuous string of horses. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE EXHIBITOR TO BE SURE THAT HIS/HER HORSE IS AT THE GATE ON TIME. CLASS CALLS MUST BE CONSIDERED A COURTESY ONLY. No protests will be upheld on the basis of a public address system malfunction. HALF ARABIAN/ANGLO ARABIAN COLTS/STALLIONS - Half Arabian & Anglo Arabian stallions registered with AHA or which have been issued an AHA CPAR Permit (Canadian Part-bred Arabian Register) are permitted to compete in the AHA PERFORMANCE CLASSES for Half-Arabian & Anglo-Arabian horses. HEADGEAR All juniors riding in Hunter Seat Equitation sections must wear properly fitting protective headgear while riding in the designated schooling and exercise areas, the show ring and while jumping anywhere on the competition grounds. Harness must be secured and properly fitted. Any rider violating this rule must immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is property in place. Any exhibitor may wear protective headgear (ASTM/SEA) in any division or class without penalty from the judge. 15

18 GENERAL INFORMATION IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS - Every horse entered in the show will be assigned an identification number. It is important for the proper handling of the show that the riders, drivers and handlers in all classes wear correct numbers. INDEMNITY AND NON-RESPONSIBILITY CLAUSES - All entries are accepted with the understanding that the RED BLUFF ARABIAN HORSE SHOW and the ROLLING HILLS EQUESTRIAN CENTER will not be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury to any horse exhibited or any article of any kind. All horses shall be under the control and direction of the Show Committee but solely at the risk of the exhibitor, who will be responsible for any loss, damage or injury to any person, animal or property occasioned by him, his agents or employees, or by an animal owned or exhibited by him, and shall indemnify the RED BLUFF ARABIAN HORSE SHOW and the ROLLING HILLS EQUESTRIAN CENTER, against any and all loss, damages and liability thus occasioned, including but not limited to any & all legal costs, including attorney fees, which may be incurred as a result thereof. The submitting of an entry form to the Show Secretary shall constitute an acceptance by each person signing same of the provisions herein set forth. JUDGES - If for any reason a judge fails to attend this show or perform his/her duties, the Show Committee reserves the right to substitute a judge for the one who is officially designated in the Prize list. It is a violation of USEF Rules to commit any act or make remarks during the show that are considered offensive and/or made with the intent to influence or cast aspersions on the judging. No one shall approach a judge with regard to a decision or at any time unless he first obtains permission from the Show Manager or Steward who shall arrange an appointment with the judge at a proper time/ place. JUNIOR EXHIBITORS - To be eligible, riders must not have reached their 19th birthday as of December 1st of the current competition year. The age of an individual on December 1st will be maintained throughout the entire competition year. Persons born on December 1st assume the greater age on that date. Junior exhibitors (18 year olds) will have to take out an adult membership with USEF and they must declare if they are an amateur or pro as defined by USEF. If they fall under the definition of a pro, then they can no longer compete in the junior exhibitor classes since they are no longer considered amateurs according to GR106, even though they are still by AHA definition a junior exhibitor. LOCATION OF CLASSES - The management reserves to the right hold classes, or portions of classes, on the grounds in another location or outside the main ring if it is found necessary to do so. In case of inclement weather, location of classes may be changed. Exhibitors will be notified and changes will be posted in the show office. MAIDEN, NOVICE, LIMIT HORSES Classes are open to horses which have not won one/three/six first place ribbons respectively, at Regular Competitions of USEF or CEF in the particular performance division. Status is as of the closing date (April 16th). MOTORIZED VEHICLES (Golf Carts, Mopeds, 3-Wheel Vehicles, Mini Bikes) - Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the sate in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of recognized competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above-described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from the rule. REGISTRATION PAPERS REQUIRED - A copy of the current registration papers showing proof of ownership (front & back of old papers; front of new papers) MUST be submitted with the entry form at the time of making an entry.
