1 Overview As a Premium or Select user of Streetscape you have access to additional functionality that is not available in the basic package, including the ability to set up alerts that keep you informed of changes in the activity of individual securities an enhanced version of the basic Quotes feature (MAXXQuote), which you can use to chart the price history of a security features for viewing detailed information about options (calls and puts) for an individual equity or index symbol, and historical closing prices for various securities, and functionality for creating and maintaining up to three portfolios. 2 Using Quote Alerts You can monitor the activity of up to 100 individual security symbols by setting up alerts which notify you when a security s market price equals, rises above, or falls below the value you specify. Note: You can view up to 10 of these alerts at one time in the Quotes and Alerts frame. Setting Up Quote Alerts To Set Up Quote Alerts 1. From the Quotes and Alerts frame, click the Set Preferences link. Result: The Support Center opens in a separate browser window, with the User Options tab selected. 2. Click the Set new quote alert link. 3. Enter the market symbol for the security you want to monitor. 4. Enter one or more of the alert settings described in the table below. TO BE ALERTED WHEN the trade price is greater than or equal to your setting the trade price is less than or equal to your setting the percent net change in price has hit your setting, either in a positive or negative direction. ENTER YOUR SETTING INFORMATION IN THE FOLLOWING FIELD. Last Price High. Last Price Low. % Net Change (+/ ). Example: If you enter 5, an alert will occur if the price rises or falls more than 5% 2 of 14 March 2001

3 TO BE ALERTED WHEN ENTER YOUR SETTING INFORMATION IN THE FOLLOWING FIELD. the current day s trading volume has surpassed your setting the bid price is greater than or equal to your setting the bid price is less than or equal to your setting the ask price is greater than or equal to your setting the ask price is less than or equal to your setting Total Volume. Bid High. Bid Low. Ask High. Ask Low If you want to display news alerts for the symbol, check the Show news alerts for this symbol box. Note: News alerts display on the screen prefaced by the word News. By clicking a News link, you can view the full text of the story. To save your new Alert settings, click the Add New Quote Alerts button. To set up alerts for another security, repeat steps 3-6. To Edit Quote Alert Settings 1. From the Alerts frame, click the Set Preference link. Result: The Support Center opens in a separate browser window with the User Options tab selected. 2. Click the View my alerts link. Result: Your current alert settings display under the Quote Alerts heading. 3. Change your settings, as appropriate, using the information in the table below. IF YOU WANT TO set up a new alert click the set new alerts link, and follow the procedure for setting up a new alert, above. modify an existing alert click the edit link to the right of the alert you want update modify the fields on the Update Alert window, as necessary, and to save your changes, click the Update button. 4 IF YOU WANT TO delete an existing alert delete all alerts click the edit link to the right of the alert you want to delete on the Update Alert window, click the Delete button. click the delete all quote alerts link. To View a News Story Click on an alert whose Show News field displays Yes. Result: The full news story opens in a pop-up window. Monitoring Your Alerts To monitor your alerts Make sure the Index/Alerts toggle switch in the Quotes Alerts frame is set to Alerts. Viewing Alert History To View a History of All Alerts Received During Your Online Session 1. Click the View Alerts History button. 2. All of the alerts received during your current session, from earliest to latest, display. 3. To update the history with alerts that have occurred since you opened the Alerts History window, click the Update button. You can only view alert history for the current online session. When the session ends, any alert history is removed. 4 of 14 March 2001

5 Using MAXXquote The Streetscape User Guide In addition to providing all of the information available via the Quote feature, MAXXquote enables you to chart the price history of a security and to modify the data displayed in the chart. To access MAXXquote 1. From the menu, select News & Quotes. 2. From the left navigation menu of the News & Quotes menu, select MaxxQuote. 3. If you haven t already done so, enter the market symbol in the Enter Symbol(s) box. Result: The MAXXQuote window displays with the following information for the symbol that you entered in the Enter Symbol(s) box on the left navigation menu: To open a news headline At the bottom of the window, click the link corresponding to the story you want to view. Result: The full text of the story opens in the News window. To modify chart data Use the guidelines in the table below. TO specify how far back in time you want to chart the data SELECT an Interval from the drop down list. March of 14

6 TO specify the amount of data over time to be charted SELECT a Frequency from the drop down list. compare the performance of the symbol with the performance of a major index an Index from the drop down list. include the average value of a security s price over a period of time a Moving Average from the drop down list. add other indicators to display in the top section of the chart an Upper Indicator from the drop down list. add other indicators to display in the bottom section of the chart a Lower Indicator from the drop down list. Result: The chart is updated based on the criteria you specified. 6 of 14 March 2001

8 Using Option Chain Use the Option Chain feature to view all of the options (calls and puts) for an individual equity or index symbol, including full quote detail from the exchange where the option is traded. Quote detail includes the time of the requested quote the strike price, and the expiration date of the option contract. To access Option Chain 1. From the menu, select News & Quotes. 2. From the left navigation menu of the News & Quotes menu, select Option Chain. 3. If you haven t already done so, enter the market symbol in the Enter Symbol(s) box. Result: The Option Chain window displays a composite quote of the underlying security, followed by all available options. To view a full quote for a listed option Click on the Call Symbol or Put Symbol link. for the applicable option. 8 of 14 March 2001

9 Using Price History The Price History feature provides access to up to 10 years worth of closing prices for the following security types: listed equities (NYSE and AMEX only) Nasdaq securities rights warrants when issueds, and (some) mutual funds. To access Price History 1. From the Brokerage Center main menu, select..from the menu, select News & Quotes. 2. From the left navigation menu of the News & Quotes menu, select Price History. 3. If you haven t already done so, enter the market symbol in the Enter Symbol(s) box. Result: ThePrice History window for that symbol displays, with the following prices for the previous six months in descending order Open High Low Close, and Volume. March of 14

10 To Modify a Price History request 1 Use the information in the table below to determine the appropriate action to take. IF YOU WANT TO VIEW price history for another symbol a different amount of price history prices for a particular date or range of dates [ enter the new symbol in the Symbol box of the Price History window. select a Frequency from the drop down list. enter the dates (mm/dd/yyyy) in the Start Date and End Date boxes. Note: If you are looking for the prices for a specific date, enter that date in both the Start Date and End Date boxes. 2 Click the Go button to view results. 11 Using Watch List Use the Watch List feature to create up to three portfolios that track up to 20 securities each update the listed values with the latest market prices, and for a listed security symbol: obtain a full quote view news headlines, or chart historical closing. You can also customize your display by selecting from up to 30 columns of data and determining the order in which they appear. Opening a Watch List To open an existing Watch List 1. From the Brokerage Center main menu, select. 2..From the menu, select News & Quotes. From the left navigation menu of the News & Quotes menu, select Watch List. Select a Watch List from the drop down list. Result: The market data for the Watch List you selected displays, as shown below. Note: An up-pointing green arrow indicates that the tick is UP from the previous quote. A downpointing red arrow indicates that the tick is DOWN from the previous quote. To refresh a watch list Click the Update List button. Result: The following columns are updated with the latest market data: Last Net Chg, and % Chg. 12 Click on the applicable Symbol link. To view related news headlines or price chart for the symbol 1. Scroll to the rightmost columns for the symbol. 2. Use the information in the table below to determine the appropriate action to take. IF YOU WANT TO VIEW a symbol s related news items click the News icon associated with the symbol. Result: The News window displays, with a list of news headlines for the symbol. a chart of the symbol s historical closing prices Reference: For information on using the News feature, refer to the (Basic Features) section of this user guide. click the Chart icon associated with the symbol. Result: The Basic Chart window displays for the symbol. Reference: For information on using the Chart feature, refer to the (Basic Features) section of this user guide. 3. To return to the Watch List window, click the Back button on your browser s toolbar. Creating or Modifying a Watch List To create, edit, or delete a Watch List 1 Click the Create/Edit a Watch List link. Result: The Edit Symbol Lists window displays, as shown below. 2 Use the information in the table below to determine the appropriate action to take. IF YOU WANT TO create a new Watch List Enter the name that you would like to use to identify the list in the List Name box. Enter up to 20 symbols that you would like to include on the list in the List Contents box. Note: Separate each symbol by a space. 12 of 14 March 2001

13 IF YOU WANT TO edit a Watch List change the data in the List Name and/or List Contents fields, as appropriate. remove a Watch List select the Delete? check box associated with the list you want to remove. 3. For each list you want to create, edit, or delete, repeat Step To save your changes, click the Update button. 5. To return to the Watch List window, click the Exit button Result: The changes you made will be reflected in the Watch List drop down. Customizing the Watch List Window To change data columns 1. Click the Set Column Preferences link. Note: Columns that currently display in the Watch List window appear in the left list box. Columns that are available but do not currently display appear in the right list box. 2. Use the information in the table below to determine the appropriate action to take. The settings you choose apply to all watch lists. The more data you choose to display in the watch list, the more you will have to scroll to view results. IF YOU WANT TO add a column of data from the left list box, select the name of the column you want to add, and click the Add button. remove a column of data from the right list box, select the name of the column you want to remove, and click the Remove button. rearrange the order of data columns from the right list box, select the name of the column you want to move, and click either Up (to move the column up in the list), or Down (to move the column down in the list). restore the most recently saved settings to the data columns [ restore the following default settings to data columns increase the number of symbols whose data displays across your watch list click the Reset button. click the Maxxnet Default button. select the appropriate option: Note: 1 Across is the default setting.
