1 Teen Summer Intensives Teen Summer Intensive weeks: July 7 August 10, 2014 Teen Summer Intensive 2014 Q&A (PDF) This year s JHDC Summer Intensive has been designed to promote deep professional and skill enhancement in an intimate environment. You will enjoy the intensive and targeted work as you complete the weekly sequences that are custom designed for each professional and student s growth through the JHDC Individual Summer Intensive Plan. This is a rigorous training that runs for 5 weeks and provides over 85 hours of instruction and support. The following are mandatory components that will contribute to your success outcomes and results: Intensive Placement Sunday June 22, 2014 from 1-4 p.m., Studio B 12 hours per week (8 Classes) 4 classes are 1.0 hrs. or 1.5 hrs. Each depending on schedule, 1 class is 1.5 hrs., and 2 classes are 2.0 hrs. Rehearsals weekly Fridays from 4:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. 1 Master Class (2 hours) with world-renowned guest artists Dance lab designated practice time in studio outside of structured class and rehearsal time Concert Performance in studio performance hosted on Saturday, August 9th, Company Audition JHD, JHD II, and JHDYC will be held on Sunday, August 10th, There are 30 slots available which book quickly. Don t delay! Company Dancers are currently in a company and are seeking a professional

2 dance career track. Advanced Dancers have extensive experience, developed skills and are currently not in a company. Intermediate Dancers are beyond the formative phases of dance and are engaged in skill progression. The teen intensive is run by Paula Ward and Heather Zimny Register now! Classes will be scheduled independently for demanding group work as well as within the larger studio class structure for thorough exposure: 2 Ballet Classes can be either an Adult class or a Teen division class 2 Jazz Classes can be either an Adult class or a Teen division class 1 Modern Class Horton 2 2 hour technique classes taught by Heather Zimny and Paula Ward on Wednesday (2:30-4:30 p.m.) and Thursday (2:30-4:30 p.m.) Rehearsal (2.5 hours) Fridays 4:30-7:00 pm 1 Master Class with a world-renowned guest artist (2 hours) Register early and save!

Next you will need to provide all paperwork to the office by the registration deadline June 22, There are 30 slots available for the Teen Intensive and classes are filled on first paid basis with full fees paid in advance of the start of the Intensive Session. What are the fees and payment options? There is a non-refundable deposit of $375 that will be subtracted from the prepaid amount. Is the Company Audition required? No. However, as part of the skill assessment piece that culminates the Summer Intensive it is integral to providing you with feedback on your skill sets. We strongly encourage that you take advantage of the audition process. Skill assessment will occur during the Company audition process. Am I required to participate in the Summer Intensive Program if I want to audition for a Company slot?
