TRAIN BUS Extra trains to the Sydney CBD and North Sydney will run from 2pm to get you to your New Year s Eve celebrations and home again. Extra buses on major routes will run to get you to and from the Sydney CBD and North Sydney. If you re spending New Year s Eve at one of these prime positions, make sure you plan ahead. These conditions apply at all our vantage points: No BYO alcohol and no glass. Bag searches are a condition of entry; Sites will close when they reach capacity. This is usually earlier in the day, so get there early, download the app or visit the website to get live updates on the day; and There will be toilets, and some sites will sell food, drinks and alcohol. FERRY If you are travelling by ferry allow extra time and plan ahead. Ferries are expected to be crowded. Look out for your mates and plan a meeting place in case you get separated. Make sure your mobile is charged so you can contact your mates. Pack your own food in recyclable or reusable plastic containers. Non-alcoholic drinks must be in sealed plastic containers (many sites will sell food and drinks). Wear sunscreen and a hat during the day. Don t litter. Please recycle - use bins provided or take your rubbish home with you. No alcohol can be brought into an official Sydney New Year s Eve vantage point. New alcohol laws are now in place across the Sydney CBD entertainment precinct. 6 Pg 10 Pg 11 PUBLIC TRANSPORT OPTIONS Darling Harbour On Sydney New YEar s Eve Darling Harbour will be a little different this New Year s Eve. From 7.30pm you ll enjoy free entertainment throughout Darling Harbour and a party atmosphere before fireworks ignite the sky at 9pm and midnight from both Tumbalong Park Precinct and Cockle Bay. Join in the fun when the clock counts down to midnight and welcome in 2015 with a bang. Train There are over 1,000 extra trains running on New Year s Eve, but large crowds are expected. Plan to get into the city early to get your spot for the fireworks. Circular Quay. Between 6pm and 1am you will not be able to get off at Circular Quay. You can walk to the harbour foreshore from Wynyard, St James or Martin Place. Domestic Airport and International Airport. On New Year s Day trains leaving Central will not stop at Domestic Airport and International Airport Stations. Milsons Point. After the fireworks the only entrance to Milsons Point Station will be from Ennis Road (off Broughton Street). If you are walking up Alfred Street you will be asked to continue walking to North Sydney Station.

7 Pg 12 Pg 13 BUS There are over 3,500 extra buses to get you to and from the celebrations, but extensive road closures will be in place and bus stops will be moved. See pages 14 and 15 for maps and details of bus stop locations. Ferry Extra ferries will run until the harbour exclusion zone commences. The last service time from some wharves is as early as 5.35pm, so plan your trip. Ferries are expected to be very busy, so have a back-up plan in case services are full. After the midnight fireworks, extra ferries will run on some routes to get you home. However, they are expected to be crowded or may be delayed if the harbour exclusion zone time is extended. Light Rail Plan ahead ticketing With so many extra services on New Year s Eve, public transport is the best way to travel. Getting home Large crowds will be leaving the Sydney CBD and North Sydney at the end of the fireworks, and you may need to leave from a different location than you originally planned. Staff will be on the ground directing you to your nearest transport locations. Leaving a little later might mean you avoid the crowd, but plan your trip to make sure you don t miss your lift home. Road closures There will be significant road closures and special event clearways in place in the Sydney CBD, North Sydney, Lower North Shore, Inner West and the harbour foreshore. There are over 4,500 extra trains and buses running, so consider the public transport options The Sydney Harbour Bridge will be closed between 11pm and 1am.
