2 2 Senior Message Guidelines The senior section of the yearbook for the Class of 2017 will feature headshots of graduating seniors with an information section next to each picture. This space available for text is LIMITED and may be used for: 1. Favorite quotations, poetry lines, or song lyrics a) Must be in quotation marks and credited to the creator of the original material. Any message that exceeds grid space or does not give credit to an author/writer will not be printed. b) Please document the source of your quotation so the Labelle staff can verify authenticity. We will not print quoted material that does not come with documentation. Include source, title, author, page number, etc. 2. A personal message 3. Special thanks to family and friends or other personal thoughts 4. A list of the sports and clubs in which you participated during your years at BAHS Please read through this form carefully and keep your quotations within Labelle school district guidelines/policies. Before submitting your information grid, please take see page 5 for examples of senior quotations that would be acceptable for our publication. Labelle staff reserves that right to edit all material and to reject any material that we feel is inappropriate for our publication or questionable in any way. *Use the laws of common sense when creating your message. Slang, profanity, derogatory comments, etc. are inappropriate and will be rejected. *Your grid form comes with a section of explanation. Use this section to explain anything that might raise questions among the Labelle staff or Labelle advisors. If you are thanking a specific person, please list the person s full name and their relationship to you in the explanation section, or use that person s initials in the message and include a note that explains who these people are and how they are related to you (i.e., mother, best friend, etc.) on the form. *If your message is approved it will appear below your photograph in the senior section. If you do not submit a photograph prior to our photo deadline, your quotation will not be used. No photo = No space =No quotation *Use the grid on the quotation sheet to plan your message. Feel free to use all five lines, even if you don t fill in all the spaces in each line. Refer to the sample page for guidelines and suggestions. The Labelle staff will do their best to recreate the appearance of your message, but we cannot guarantee it. *If you run out of space, consider abbreviating. *Double check that your spelling, punctuation, and capitalization are the way you want them to appear in the yearbook. Since the Labelle staff will be attempting to recreate the original appearance of your message, we will spell and capitalize words exactly as they appear in your grid. For example, if you write your message in all capital letters, we will type your message in all capital letters. Check your legibility; if we cannot read it, we won t be able to print it! Remember: Stay within the above guidelines, meet all deadlines, and fill out the information sheet completely. Thank you in advance!
3 3 SENIOR MESSAGE FORM Please read all instructions carefully, and complete this ENTIRE form. (Please print clearly so the LaBelle staff can verify proper spelling and capitalization of your name under your senior portrait) Name: Homeroom #: Homeroom Teacher: Phone Number: Draft your message in the space below. Please use only the allotted space. If you used a quotation, song, or other copyrighted material, please document the source here. If you mentioned any friends or family members, provide their full names and their relationship to you: Explanations: Use this space to explain anything in your quotation that might bring up questions among the yearbook staff (funny spellings, sayings, phrases, etc.) *Remember that the yearbook staff will NOT print anything that might be inappropriate.
