This unique partnership enables Uversity to offer the best modules across the full range of Creative Arts and Culture in Ireland. 4 Personalised Learning and Mentoring To ensure there is coherence in the overall learning pathway, Uversity assigns a personal mentor to every student. Mentors encourage students to set personal, professional and artistic goals for the year, review their ambitions and actions and build a learning programme that complements and challenges them both academically and creatively.

5 About the programme The Uversity Master of Arts in Creative Process is a 12-month 90 ECTS degree programme at Level 9 on the Irish Qualifications Framework (NFQ) awarded by the National University of Ireland. The programme integrates study, creative practice and immersive experience in Ireland s academic and creative communities. The programme consists of three major components. Core Module: Creative Process and Immersive Practice (20 ECTS credits across 2 semesters) This module encourages Uversity students to explore their creative process in artistic practice through a combination of artistic, scholarly and somatic activities. Students meet four times per semester on this module which includes: postgraduate seminars on creativity theory and creative process methodologies; personal reflections on creative process from leading artists and creative practitioners; immersion in arts events and festivals engaging in somatic and artistic practice in different locations throughout Ireland. Optional Modules (20 ECTS credits per semester) The optional modules provide students with the flexibility to design a customised Master of Arts programme based on their personal education goals and areas of interest. Uversity s twenty-four higher education partners offer a choice of modules in Art and Design, Cinema and Broadcast Arts, Drama and Theatre Studies, Creative Writing, Music, Dance, Literature, Arts and Culture, Creative and Cultural Industries, Creative Technologies. Students are encouraged to choose one institution per semester. Creative Project (30 ECTS Credits) Students spend the Summer Semester in a host institution of their choice working on a major research or practice-based project. 6 I think it s a great opportunity. You get an amazing experience, you meet amazing people and different cultures and you learn a lot about yourself as well as learning about art and creative process.

7 How to apply Applications for the Master of Arts in Creative Process open in October of the preceding academic year. Early decision is given in December with a final cut-off date in March of the relevant academic year. Tuition fees and financial aid The total tuition fee for this one year programme is 20,000. An initial deposit is payable on receipt of an offer. 8 Sara Komorowski 2015 Master of Arts in Creative Process, Uversity Bachelor of Arts, Communications, Boston College Sara is keenly interested in theatrical sound and lighting design and has worked previously as a stage and production manager. Sara was particularly interested in developing and applying her theatre skills in a broadcast setting. To fulfil her goals, Sara concentrated her studies in the area of film, taking modules in Film Theory, Ireland and National Cinema, Film Administration, Film-making, Fieldwork and Theatre Business at Dublin City University and at NUI Galway. Sara s final project was a dissertation entitled Painting Inside the Lines. In this work, she combined Dr. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi s theory of flow with her love of lighting design. Sara has recently taken up a role as production management intern at Seattle Repertory Theatre in September I think being in Dublin for my first chunk of time was awesome and then to be able to jump from European city to Irish city when I moved to Galway was really good and really cool. I think getting your Masters in Creative Process In actually studying creativity is what really drew me to the programme.

9 Namrata Desai, USA 2015 Master of Arts in Creative Process, Uversity Bachelor of Fine Art, Rhode Island School of Design Namrata further developed her broadcast and film skills during her year at Uversity taking modules in Film Theory and History, Writing for the Stage, Screenwriting, Sex, Sexuality and Popular Culture, Television Drama and Television Drama Production. Namrata s chosen modules enabled her to study at four different institutions including Dublin City University, Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art & Design, Maynooth University and University College Dublin. Namrata used the skills and experiences in Ireland to take an introspective look at a difficult time in her life, using documentation as a tool of acceptance, resourcefulness and inspiration. Her final project work was a short film entitled Entering the Flesh Again showcased at the Uversity graduate event. The Core Module has been a key class for this programme it s about looking at yourself and your process and trying to understand about yourself and the way you work, what works for you and what doesn t and that s been really useful.

10 Bianca Diaz, USA 2015 Master of Arts in Creative Process, Uversity Bachelor of Fine Arts, Rhode Island School of Design Bianca s area of interest is primarily illustration and animation with a particular interest in education. Bianca spent her year in the West of Ireland taking modules at Burren College of Art and Cork Institute of Technology with her modules reflecting her core interests including Historical and Critical Studies; Bridging Theory and Practice; Audio Visual Broadcasting and Art Therapy in Education. An illustrator, budding animator and educator from Chicago, Bianca wishes to communicate with people through stories and believes in the necessity of being surrounded by a strong community to help a person become happy, independent human who holds power to help others. Bianca s final project was an arresting animated children s film entitled Dear Chicago which blended her experiences growing up in Chicago seen through new eyes as a result of her time spent in the Burren. What I like most about the programme is that you get to pick exactly what you want to do - I did studio art here and I m learning a lot about the fine art world and then when I go to Cork I get to learn about film, broadcasting, documentary making and learning through games.

11 Hallie Morrison, USA 2015 Master of Arts in Creative Process, Uversity Bachelor of Fine Arts, Rhode Island School of Design Hallie spent the year at Crawford College of Art and Design (Cork Institute of Technology) studying across various programmes including the Masters of Art Therapy, Art and Design Education for Primary Years, and Arts and Process. Hallie s exhibited work displayed her progress with methodologies of a/r/tography and themes from the three Masters Departments as conceptual material for an artsbased education research practice. Hallie also completed an additional degree programme at Crawford, called Creativity & Change, which focused on global and development education. Hallie s final creative project at the graduate showcase event in the National Gallery of Ireland was an abstract, multidisciplinary art installation of video, painting, and drawing. There is constant new stimuli all the time and everything I know has been cracked open, over and over again. I met so many new people who change my way of thinking and I think it was necessary to move to a new place, a whole new country and to start a new body of work.

12 Lorena Ribeiro, Brazil 2015 Master of Arts in Creative Process, Uversity Bachelor of Arts, University Sāo Paulo Bachelor of Arts (Film Studies), SENAC University, Brazil Lorena is interested in the use of film and photography to explore the intersection of art, nature and the human condition. Lorena spent the year in the West of Ireland taking modules at NUI Galway and Burren College of Art which included Creative Documentary; A Visual Culture; Poetry Workshop; Historical & Critical Studies and Environmental Studies. Coming from a large city, Lorena found that the impact of place was a vital part of her experience in Ireland, particularly her time spent in the Burren. Her studies enabled her to expand her knowledge, horizons and fields of work which informed her final project, a short film entitled AMBER which was showcased at Uversity s graduate show at the National Gallery of Ireland. The programme gives you the opportunity to expand your knowledge and horizons and fields of work and basically whatever you would like or makes sense in terms of personal projects.

13 Jovana Radovanovic, Serbia 2015 Master of Arts in Creative Process, Uversity Bachelor of Fine Arts, University of Philology and Arts Jovana is passionate about graphic arts and studio art and her ambition is to become a professional artist and designer. Jovana developed her skills further during this programme taking literature modules at University College Dublin and exploring how to use her design and literature skills in her future career with design entrepreneurship modules at University of Ulster in Northern Ireland. Jovana designed a website Foreign Education as her summer project at Burren College of Art. Dublin is so artistic and it gives so much inspiration. People are so artistic here because of their history, they are so creative and they appreciate art. There is always exhibitions on and I think that art is really considered one of the really important things for Irish culture.
