2 Learn about filmmaking Learn all about film production techniques through these film-focused projects: Lights, Camera, Action! Explore the origins of cinema to produce a silent movie inspired by the early pioneers of the silver screen. Look Inside: The Film Industry Find out the inner workings of the film industry, including pitching, production, distribution and exhibition. Look Inside: Stop-motion Animation Learners craft and model their own character creations and produce an animated film using stop motion technique. The film is brilliant - I can t wait to show it in assembly. Bridget Norton, Finton House School Backstage Productions Make a documentary about your school play. 3 Learn through filmmaking Enhance curriculum topics through practical production projects. These projects can help reach learners who may be less academic than their peers, or create extension opportunities for high achievers. English & Literacy Use film to explore and interpret set texts or class readers. Ideal for building awareness of narrative, character and visual literacy. Use film to unlock themes, motifs and figurative language. Maths in the Movies Explore angles, ratios, dimensions, logic and problem solving, timings and numeracy all whilst making a film. Science / History / Geography Embed curriculum learning within a film production. Make a fictional film or a fun documentary film inspired by your topic.

4 Art Include an Art Film project within your art curriculum for learners to explore working within film and digital media. Drama An ideal extension to further theatre and live performance skills, this project explores Acting for Camera techniques, screenwriting and narrative development especially for screen media. Music Celebrate your music department with a music video project. Alongside showcasing musical talent through performance, there are also opportunities for sound design. Book Now! PSHE & Citizenship Bring challenging topics to life through film. Explore the skills of documentary journalism and the buzz of the TV studio. With lively debate and research into varying viewpoints, students will produce a film to bring the topic to the big screen.

5 themed weeks and school topics Celebrate themed weeks throughout the year with your own in-school film festival. Encourage collaboration across year groups and departments. International Inspirations Explore film styles from around the world, from German Expressionism, to Russian montage, Bollywood and beyond. Media Week Celebrate Media Week with a series of film workshops exploring cinematic genres and conventions. Enterprise Week Set up a film production company during Enterprise Week! 6 Transitions projects Our Leavers Projects support children to celebrate their accomplishments and their time together, whilst also looking forward to the future. Five Day Farewell Film Over this 5 day project, school leavers produce a film that sums up their time and experience at your school. A perfect way to say goodbye. This project is a great way to address anxieties about transition, and encourage a strong sense of cohesion within your new alumni. We can even work with your new intake group to incorporate elements of peer mentoring. I think that our students have learnt a great deal about the novel and its characterisation, but also crucially, about teamwork and the value of listening to each other Kate Pretsell, ARK Burlington Danes Academy First Day Films For schools welcoming new joiners, this project is ideal to introduce them to other members of the school community, to address any anxieties and to promote confidence and cohesion through collaborative learning. What better way to get to know your new school than by shooting a film there?

7 Each project can be tailored to fit your timetable, spanning 1-5 Days, which can take place consecutively or across the term. We can also develop a bespoke programme based around your exact requirements. Projects are delivered by our highly skilled team of professional filmmakers and workshop leaders in your school. Each of our team are DBS checked and trained to ensure child safety and wellbeing. We provide all of the equipment required, including an Apple Mac editing suite equipped with Final Cut Pro and imovie. The only thing we require from the school is a suitable space, which can be a school hall or dining room, a gym or a classroom space with access to a projector. Thank you for such a great afternoon. 8 additional features Screening Events We host presentation events for parents and the school community to share in an exclusive premiere screening of films. A popular feature for parents, we can also host an extra special cinema screening for learners, school and family to celebrate their work on the big screen in a gala event. Arts Award We can incorporate an accredited qualification into your workshop project. Through Arts Award young people gain a nationally recognised qualification.
