1 Braeburn Dar es salaam International School TERM: 1 Week :10 5th November 2016 Dear Parents, I trust you are enjoying the rains of today. I have just returned from a rather wet swimming gala and that s not just the children! Thank you so much for turning out in great numbers last night, bringing friends and other family members along with you. Our first Bonfire & Fireworks Night was a huge success! Thank you to all involved in the organisation of it and its execution in the evening: our parents, children, all our staff, a few outside agencies and of course, our growing FAB committee all your assistance and hard work is greatly appreciated. We are already thinking ahead to next year s! CONTENTS Head Teacher s note Weekly Calendar Stars of the week Weekly Notes What s For Lunch This Week s Gallery On Monday, we were privileged to be entertained by Mandragora Circo, a duo, mime, gymnastic and acrobatic performance. All children from Crèche to Year 7, as well as the staff, were enthralled by it. They are now continuing their tour through parts of Africa. As you will have read from the message sent out yesterday, we have another date for your diaries this Tuesday. We have a proposal for the development of Braeburn Dar es Salaam International School which will be shared by the current Managing Director, Mr. Rob Williams. Therefore, we wish to invite you to a meeting with the Managing Directors, next Tuesday, 8th November, at 3 pm at the school. Our new MD for Tanzania will be introduced at the same time. We look forward to greeting as many of you as are able to attend then. Have a great weekend!, Head Teacher

5 Weekly Notes Notices from PE Dept. This week has been another busy and successful week for Braeburn sports participants. Footballers have enjoyed playing in their regular games and it was great to see Feza International School here at Braeburn on Wednesday for the U9 football for the first time. U9 boys this week played extremely well and kept up their hard work through both very tiring games. U9 girls played fantastically, keeping up their winning streak with two more wins and some fantastic goals from Sammara. U13 boys this week played again with a spirited performance with Martin taking many chances at the goal but unfortunately were saved by the opposition s keeper. A big well done to Naftal this week who stepped up to play as the U13 boys goal keeper. U13 girls this week worked very well as a team with Laura scoring a goal. We also have had the Swim squad at HOPAC gala on Saturday, with results to be posted next week.
