The Rosenbauer Electric Power System is the modern answer to the problem of more electrical power on the fire fighting truck. Rosenbauer offers the new EPS XS for installation near the engine and belt drive with power of up to 11 kva as well as the EPX XL with cardan shaft drive from the PTO of the chassis with power of up to 90 kva. Both systems enable new applications for supplying electricity to devices in use. Benefits of the EPS Electric Power System. 3 EPS XL Power up to 90 kva The EPS XL system is a high-performance generator system as an alternative to conventional built-in generators and large mobile units. It serves for the electrical drive of all consumers in the fire fighting truck with the exception of the centrifugal pump. Installation in the vehicle The power generator with integrated rectifier is built into the chassis frame and driven directly by a PTO of the chassis by way of a cardan shaft. The converter and control box are flexibly positioned in the body. Additional sockets are flexibly installed in the body depending on the requirements. Sizes from 16 to 63 A are possible. 4 EPS Electric Power System Rosenbauer EPS XS Power up to 11 kva With the EPS XS, it is possible for the first time to produce three-phase 400 V AC voltage in a fire fighting truck by way of a direct motor using the power generator installed in the engine compartment. In contrast to conventional single-phase 230V systems, all heavy devices, such as submersible pumps, contaminated water pumps, etc. can be driven directly. Installation in the engine compartment The EPS XS generator is built directly into the engine compartment of the vehicle and driven by a belt. The converter and control box are flexibly positioned in the body. The position of the sockets can be selected according to the vehicle load.
