4 Drain pumps for domestic appliances The single-phase synchronous motor which drives the drain pump has almost completely replaced the shaded-pole motor which has dominated this sector for decades. This pump type is now simply referred to as a synchronous pump. There are many reasons for the success of synchronous pumps. The main reason is that synchronous pumps are more cost efficient than shaded pole motor driven pumps. The HANNING synchronous drain pump is absolutely leak-proof. This is achieved by a new pump design. The dynamic sealing, used in shaded pole pumps could be eliminated. Better resistance to foreign objects is achieved by the new pump design. With this design, objects can be cleaned away more easily because the pump can change the direction of rotation. HANNING production plant in China The HANNING synchronous drain pumps are manufactured in HANNING's production plant in Danzhutou Shawan, Shenzhen, P.R. China. The plant is managed and controlled by a German management. The plant is a 100 % HANNING owned company. The climatized rooms and warehouse and stucture as well as the professionally trained staff ensure the production of high quality pumps. We achieve an almost zero ppm-rate on all productions. HANNING (Hong Kong) Ltd. The HANNING (Hong Kong) Ltd. is located in 223 Hing Fong Road, Kwai Chung, N.T., Hong Kong. The HANNING office mainly takes care of the purchase and the preparation of shipping documents. The specialized staff together with local freight forwarders quickly and reliably handle shipments. Moreover, the structure allows a very flexible and short-term handling of orders. 4

The material is self-extinguishing in case of a winding failure, i.e. the pump is protected against fire. Any chipped parts of material can result in a blockage of the pump. The high-quality double lip seal prevents any aggressive detergent from entering the rotor chamber and the bearing area which can lead to an early bearing failure. 5
