1 School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies (PPL) Undergraduate Induction Programme Welcome to the School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies. A busy schedule of events has been organised for you during your first week to help you orientate yourself to your new life at the University. Aside from the initial registration process the rest of the following events are scheduled within the School. You should attend all the events listed below that are relevant to your particular degree programme. A couple of maps have been included in the Maps content area of this site to help you find your way around the campus. If you are not sure which events are relevant to you, then you can check either with a member of the Learning and Teaching Service in the Arts Hub or with PPL staff. Formal teaching will start in Week 2 for PPL modules; you should check whether this is the case if you are taking modules in other Schools. If you have any questions or problems, please contact the relevant people from the list below:- For issues relating to module enrolment or registration: the Learning and Teaching Service, Arts Hub on Floor 0, Arts Building; For issues relating to your degree you should try: Your Adviser (check your Student View to find out who this is); For help with finances, life in the halls of residence, well-being or essay writing help: The Dean of Students Office (near the library, see Maps for precise location); In an emergency: call 999 for the Emergency Services and for the Campus Security team. The full lecture and seminar timetable will also commence in Week 2; you should refer to your personal timetable for further details. This induction programme will be displayed on the school office notice board. Please read it carefully it has a lot of really important information in it!
