3 GENERAL 1. General We offer you different training modules for operators, programmers, setters and maintenance technicians, so that you can make best use of your GROB machining center. All training modules are available for the following control systems: Siemens 840D sl, Heidenhain itnc 530 and FANUC. By working in small groups, it is possible to consider interests and background knowledge of all participants in the best way possible. Depending on availability, separate training modules can be arranged individually. After a successful booking, you will receive a written confirmation. 3

9 Identify electrical components of the machine on the basis of the drawings that are available Use manufacturer specific software reliably Carry out maintenance duties Make settings which are necessary for normal operation Troubleshooting Carry out the required measures for a safe operation and maintenance Identify all locking and safety devices. Comply with the right procedure when restarting the machine Mechanical maintenance Profound mechanical training (metal working sector, metal-cutting sector) Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems Basic knowledge of lubrication methods (lubricants, lubrication schedules) Experience in the maintenance of automatic machine tools Experience in the diagnosis of faults and their causes Duration: 3 days Familiarization with security technology Machine structure (assemblies, guides, drives, measuring systems) Presentation of machine documentation Presentation of maintenance and servicing measures Presentation of special equipment Motorized spindle (structure, inspection, replacement) Geometry (machine origins, geometry log) Tool magazine (structure, tool change cycle, tool change position) Fluid technology This training course is conducted as: 30:70 combination of theory and practice Use the technical documentation as a reference Carry out maintenance and inspection duties Correct reference points Locate and eliminate mechanical faults Carry out the required measures for a safe operation and maintenance Getting to know the right procedure when starting a machine 9

10 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 3. Additional information Booking All bookings must be sent in writing with the attached booking form, which needs to be duly filled, to at least 14 days prior to beginning of training. The number of participants is limited to a maximum of five persons per course. Therefore, bookings are processed in chronological order by date of arrival. Training dates An overview of the training dates can be found on the internet at: service/kundenschulung or upon request from our trainers. The duration varies from course to course. A training day normally lasts seven hours including breaks. Cancellation of booking You can cancel your booking free of charge, if the cancellation is received in writing at GROB at the latest 14 days before the start date of the course. In case of later cancellation, a cancellation fee of 10% of the total participation fee will be charged. If a participant does not attend a course, or leaves a course early, the total participation fee will be charged. Course cancellation If a minimum number of participants, which is set by GROB, cannot be reached, or in the case of force majeure, GROB reserves the right to change dates in order to combine courses or to cancel courses. Other costs which are caused by the cancellation of the course are not covered by GROB. Training documentation The training manuals contain proprietary information which is protected by copyrights. The content of these documents, in whole or in part, may not be copied or duplicated without prior approval of the trainer. Disclaimer The information which is conveyed in the courses and the respective documents is given to the best knowledge and belief. GROB assumes no liability for any potential deviations or defects. Especially the written information does not represent an assurance of the condition or the version (equipment) of the respectively sold machine. Safety The participants are obliged to observe the safety regulations at the GROB works premises and to comply with them. The participants are particularly obliged to wear safety shoes. Please bring safety shoes to the training. Accommodation during training courses The participants have to provide themselves with booking for accommodation. We are happy to assist you in that matter. Costs On request, we are happy to inform you about the costs incurred. The costs are generally calculated per day and participant. Training execution All trainings at GROB are conducted in professionally equipped training rooms. 10
