12 STATE SHOW WEEK - RULES Burpengary Western Performance Club.Inc 1. Shows are AQHA/AmQHA approved and will be conducted under AQHA/AmQHA rules respectively. ENTRIES 2. Entry Fees- see individual Show programs 3. All nominations incur a show office fee of $5 and a QSEC Ground Fee of $10 per horse. 4. Entries will only be accepted on the official entry form available on the website 5. Late entries will be accepted up until 2pm on Friday 19th June 2015 and will incur a one off $25 late fee. 6. No refund of entry fees will be made after closing date of entries except in the event of the death of a horse. 7. AA Show Entries are to be sent to: BWPC Inc., P O Box 1330, Burpengary, 4505 and entries close on Friday 29th May, Payment by cheque or direct deposit can be made. Direct Deposit Details: Account- BWPC, Bank-BOQ, BSB and Account Number AmQHA and State Show Entries are to be sent to BWPC Inc., P O Box 1330, Burpengary, 4505 and entries close on Friday 29th May, Payment can be made by Direct Debit or Cheque. 9. State Show AQHA Yearling Halter Futurity - $100 to the owner of the top Gelding, Filly and Colt and $100 to the Breeder of the top Gelding, Filly and Colt. 10. Any damage to BWPC Inc. /QSEC Equipment/Stables must be paid for and will be billed accordingly. 11. Ground Fee of $10 per horse to QSEC. (See Nomination Form). 12. BWPC Inc. reserves the right to refuse entry to any competitor or horse at the discretion of Show Management. STABLES/CAMPING 13. Stable fee of $22 per stable per day, includes bedding, with a cleaning deposit of $50 each stable (refundable) 14. Camping fee is $20 per day (powered), $15.00 (unpowered). 15. Tack Boxes available if room permits. 16. Stabling/Camping, for all shows, is to be booked and sent to: BWPC Inc., PO Box 1330, Burpengary Qld Stable refunds paid out after completion of show and inspection of stable. Cheque sent to nominator. COMPETITOR NUMBERS 18. No deposit is required for competitor back numbers. 19. One set of numbers for each horse will be allocated and that set of numbers is to be used for that horse, regardless of category of class, for all the shows. 20. Competitor packs, for all shows, will be available from the show office from 12 noon on Monday 22nd June PRIZE MONEY/RIBBONS 21. Any jackpotted classes, so stated, will be paid out on the number of entries that compete in the class less 20% and paid out 1 st 50%, 2 nd 30%, 3 rd 20% 22. All classes with advertised prize money will be paid to 3 rd. 23. Ribbons will be awarded to sixth place at all shows. 24. All prize money will be collected and signed for from the office. HIGH POINT AWARDS 25. Amateurs and Youth may exhibit two (2) horses in individually judged classes, however, with regards to high point awards; only the highest placing horse in that class will be given points towards any high point awards of show. 26. High Point Awards will be calculated as per the AQHA Rule Book. CHANGE OF RIDER/HORSE 27. No change of rider is allowed in open classes, without advising the show office at least one hour prior to the class taking place. 28. In open classes horses cannot be substituted 29. No change of rider/handler is permitted for AmQHA classes once the show has commenced

13 STATE SHOW 30. All Horses competing in the Queensland State Quarter Horse Championships are required to be registered with the Australian Quarter Horse Association (pending reg. not accepted) 31. All owners of horses competing in this show are required to be current financial members of the Australian Quarter Horse Association. 32. All exhibitors (handlers and riders) must hold a current financial individual membership with the AQHA in their own name. 33. All strappers/helpers must be current financial members of the AQHA or an AQHA Affiliate otherwise they must fill out the Day Membership form and pay the required fee of $15. AA SHOW 34. All horses competing must be registered with the AQHA or their respective Breed Association 35. All exhibitors must be current financial members of the AQHA or an AQHA Affiliate or otherwise they must fill out the Day membership form and pay the required fee of $15 AMERICAN SHOW. 36. All exhibitors in the AmQHA classes must be financial members of the AmQHA and all horses must be registered with the AmQHA. All amateur competitors in the AmQHA amateur classes must be current financial amateur members of the AmQHA. All exhibitors in AmQHA classes are required to have a current individual membership with the AmQHA. Joint memberships do not qualify. 37. Copy of AmQHA membership and horses registration certificate must accompany entry forms 38. All exhibitors must abide by the current rules of the AmQHA 39. Please note that the following rules from AmQHA are in addition to those already in the AmQHA rule book: From midnight Tuesday 23th June 2015 to midnight Wednesday 24th June 2015 the following equipment is prohibited at an AmQHA approved show: a) Riding in a curb bit without a curb strap, wire or solid metal curb straps no matter how padded b) Wire cavessons c) Wire or cable tie-downs d) Bumper bits e) Metal bosals, no matter how padded f) Chambons g) Headstalls made of metal (even if encased in a protected material) h) Twisted rawhide; or rope (3/8 inch rope may be used with a slip gag but with a smooth mouth piece only) i) Running martingales with curb bits j) Draw reins attached between or around the legs k) You cannot ride a horse with a curb bit without a properly adjusted, approved curb strap or chain l) A running martingale can only be used with a snaffle bit only m) Draw reins may be used on the grounds as a training device as long as they are attached no lower than the elbow of the horse VENUE RULES 40. In the case of outbreak of any contagious or infectious disease amongst horses, neither the BWPC nor the sponsors or show organisers will be liable for any damage or loss that may occur to any person or animal. 41. Dogs are welcome at QSEC Caboolture but must be kept on a leash at all times. No dogs are allowed at the indoor arena. 42. All motorised vehicles are to adhere to RTA legislation. No vehicles except for emergency or medical vehicles are to drive into the stable areas. No pushbikes, skateboards etc are to be ridden within the stable block or the arenas. 43. All buildings are NO SMOKING ZONES so please observe this ruling DRUG TESTING 44. Random drug testing will be done at these shows. All horses are subject to random drug testing and all owners agree that by making their entry, they will submit their horses to be drug tested if/when requested. GENERAL 45. Competitors realise that horse related competition has an inherent risk and as such compete at this competition at their own risk. The BWPC Inc. and show organisers will accept no liability for accident, loss or injury. This applies to all competitors, their connections, horses and spectators. 46. Every horse entered for competition shall be under the control of the Show Manager or such person/s he appoints to act on his behalf. 47. The Show Manager or such person he appoints, after consultation with the Show committee, shall have discretion to eject any exhibitor from the said area for inhumane treatment and/or training of any horse or the failure to observe the Rules and Regulations of the competition and the Rules and Regulations of the AQHA Your co-operation is expected.

14 48. Any exhibitor or rider who refuses to obey the request of the Judge, Show Manager or any show official will be automatically disqualified from further competition at the show and forfeits all previous winnings together with all entry fees and other charges. At the discretion of the Show Manager, after consultation with the Show committee, the offending individual and his/her entire exhibit may be removed from the grounds. 49. Show management may exclude horses from competition should there be any unnecessary or embarrassing delay on the part of the exhibitor in bringing the horse into the competition arena. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to present themselves at the competition arena gate when called. Failure to report on final call will result is disqualification from the class. In the event that a horse is excluded from entry, all entry fees and charges for the class are forfeited without Liability to the show organisers/ committee. 50. All horses must be serviceably sound. In case of suspected unsoundness the Judge and/or Show Management may, if he/she so desires have the animal examined by the Show Veterinarian and his decision shall be final SHOW SCHEDULES 51. Show management reserve the right to change the order of classes before or during the show. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to be aware of any changes, which will be posted at the Show Secretary s office and announced. Every endeavour will be made to give one hour s notice of any changes to the running order of events; however, every endeavour will be made to avoid changes. PROTESTS 52. The disputes committee shall consist of the Show Manager, one Show committee member and one competitor. 53. Protests must be made in writing to the show secretary and be lodged within 30 minutes of the completion of the disputed class. A cash fee of $50 must accompany any protest. YOUTH 54. All youth competing or taking part in an AQHA approved event, must have written permission from their parent/guardian to be at that event as a contestant or participant and in the case of a contest, the parent/guardian must also sign the entry form. All youth competing or taking part in an AQHA approved event must be in the care of a responsible adult who is in attendance for the duration of that event, whilst the youth is in attendance at that event. 55. If a horse is vetted out, and it has been entered for competition in a Youth event, then that youth can use a replacement horse as long as the replacement horse has been previously entered in the show. It should be noted that once this has taken place the horse that was vetted out is not allowed to compete in the rest of the show. AMATEURS 56. In an amateur class, if the amateurs horse is vetted out they will be permitted to use a replacement horse for that class as long as the replacement horse has been previously entered in the show. The replacement horse must be eligible according to the AQHA amateur rules. It should be noted that once this has taken place the horse that was vetted out is not allowed to compete in the rest of the show. 57. All Amateurs must have a current Amateur permit with the AQHA, or their respective breed association, and abide by the AQHA rules re Amateur status in regards to exhibiting in Amateur and Open classes. COMPETITORS/PARTICIPANTS/SPECTATORS 58. Riders and handlers must be correctly attired at all times including western hat/helmet and riding boots. Any person not correctly attired will not be allowed into the Marshalling arena or show arena 59. Competitors/participants/spectators at any event run by the BWPC Inc. have a responsibility to ensure the welfare of their horses humanely and with dignity, respect and compassion. Competitors/participants/spectators are to conduct themselves in a professional manner and act with integrity in all dealings with the affiliate and other competitors. To uphold the rules and regulations of the BWPC Inc. and the AQHA at all times. Competitors/participants/spectators are to demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times, showing respect for your fellow competitors and officials, following the rules and to treat people the way you would wish to be treated. 60. No alcohol is allowed in, or can be consumed in the marshalling areas, working arenas or show pen/contest areas. 61. Only contestants in the specific classes and Show Officials will be allowed in the competition arena or marshalling area during the judging. 62. No training equipment allowed in the immediate marshalling area and the performance arena from one hour before the show starts or one hour after the completion of the show on each day. 62. All Officials and competitors who have cause to enter the show arena, whilst the show is in progress, shall wear western attire including Western hat, western pants, long sleeved shirt with collar and western boots. People helping to set up arenas, trails etc must be dressed appropriately (cap/hat, western style pants, safe enclosed footwear and a shirt with sleeves). This includes breaks in the program for the day.
