Significant difference for Swedish version: the teams have parallel innovation projects: (1) commercial and (2) for the department innovations that primarily benefit the host clinic Four-person teams with background from engineering, medicine, management and design

9 Commercial outcomes : Team Gastro Surgery Solu8on within Computer- aided orthopedic surgery, patent applica8on underway : Team Emergency Room Iden8fied need for pa8ent empowerment resulted in na8onal coopera8on project led by CTMH. Informa8on brochure saves Two 2 Mkr/yr teams for clinic from the first two years are con8nuing : Team Rheumatology development of their product, inves8ga8ng Web- based pa8ent logging solu8on for rheuma8cs, spin- off for CF : Team Anesthesia patentability, applying for funding Hand hygiene solu8on. Prototype has been tested at Karolinska University Hospital, with promising results. Patent being formulated : Team Physical Therapy Service within physiotherapy : Team Oncology Early diabetes diagnosis Both teams from year three are considering commercializa8on: a medtech device (early diagnosis of diabetes) and a service within the field of physiotherapy One cross- year team (fellows from all three years) are inves8ga8ng patentability

10 Results directly to health care 44 master theses and project works directly from iden8fied clinical needs (86 students) delivering to hospital and clinic management and healthcare professionals Improvement reports to the host clinics 6 reports with needs and sugges8ons both quick fixes and larger project ideas (50-70 needs and solu8ons per year) Result into follow- up projects at clinics, some with direct involvement from fellows Pa8ent brochure: Na8onal Golden Pill award to Emergency Ward clinic at Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge Innovator competence to healthcare 1 fellow is program manager at Karolinska Innova8on 3 fellows work in close coopera8on with Karolinska University Hospital in an innova8on project on healthcare- associated infec8ons 1 strong applicant to the program was forwarded to Karolinska Innova8on and is currently a program manager there
