1 Using Two Firefox Tabs, a Template page and Drag & Drop to quickly create a new page with the same look & feel of the original. Note: the Two Tab - Drag & Drop methods used in this tutorial will also work with the newest "Chrome" browser from Google. Did this show up HUGE on your screen? Move your mouse near the bottom of the screen to make the PDF menu of "+ / -" zoom options appear. Step 1: Start in your Firefox browser with the public view of the GLAT in Tab #1. Now left-click on the tiny plus sign to "Open a new tab". Step 2: Click on the new, blank, Tab #2 and then click on your own "GLAT Editor" link / bookmark or enter the editor URL;

2 Step 3: Enter your Username and Password to "Log In" to the "Geoscience Library" from within Tab #2. Curator Step 4: Your WordPress Dashboard (editor) should appear. Open a 3 rd tab by again clicking on "Open a new tab" button.

3 Step 5: Once again, click on your own "GLAT Editor" link / bookmark or enter the editor URL: from within the new tab. Step 6: And once again, enter your Username and Password to "Log In" to the "Geoscience Library" from within Tab #3. Curator

4 Step 7: Return to Tab #2 to load up our already created Template page. Step 8: Click on the Posts item in the left margin to bring up a list of all of your existing Post pages.

5 Step 9: Scroll down the list to find your own Template page. In this example we will use the Richard Kent template page. Note: this tutorial uses an older "Template" page. Your current template page and file name may differ but the methods used are still valid. Step 10: Single-click on the file name to open it in your editor window.

6 Step 11: For most Template files there will be a set of instructions that will need to be removed before the new page can be uploaded. In this older example the actual template material will begin below the dotted line. Step 12: Next you must return to Tab #3 to prepare your new, blank, page to receive the copied template material. Click on Tab #3 now.

7 Step 13: Once back in Tab #3 go over in the left margin to the Posts area and click on the Add New item. Step 14: A new, blank, post (page) should appear. You are going to Drag & Drop your template material (without the instructions) into the open, white, editing space you see here. Your new Template material will land here

8 Step 15: Before we can do that however we must give this new page a name. Click your mouse in the Enter title here field. Note: this is also the time to select the SINGLE, and LOWEST relevent CATEGORY from the list at right. Add a new one (including #) if needed. Step 16: Type in a suitable file name for this new post (page). Since this will also form the page "Banner" be sure to use a capital letter to start each word. Note: The category + the file name will form the URL for this page so try to keep it SHORT but clear... perhaps 4-5 words at the maximum.

9 Step 17: Now click on Tab #2 to jump back to your Template page. It s time to drag over our new content material. Step 18: Scroll down to the desired template material in this case everything below the dotted line and click/drag down the page to select the material. Note: with our newer template pages there is NO line... simply select and drag EVERYTHING you see in the editor window.

10 Step 19: As you drag your mouse down the page the material you wish to transfer will highlight (be selected).

11 Step 20: Keep dragging your mouse until you have selected all of the material you wish to transfer to the new, blank, post (page).

12 Step 21: Use your left mouse button to grab the highlighted material (anywhere) and drag it up to Tab #3. Hold it over Tab #3 for a moment and the browser will automatically switch to and open that tab allowing you to then continue your drag down into the blank editor area.

13 Step 22: Drag your new material to the upper-left corner of the editor window (or where you need it to land) and let go. It is critical that you now go over to the Publish button and Save your new page. If the spinning saving icon fails to appear & the screen fails to redraw be sure to click the Publish button again... just to be safe. End of lesson. Return to top of page...
