8 ANNEX 2 : Teachers Report October 1 st, 2014 This year, St. John Fisher teachers chose a country to represent their class the first day of school. This group identification helped the children feel more welcomed. It later helped build a sense of belonging as some teachers used that same theme to start off the year and will use it throughout the year. Warm thanks to the H&S for the treats teachers received at the beginning of the school year. It is a very busy time of the year for parents and teachers alike and it was much appreciated! More warm thanks to H&S who invited our students to the Junglesport activity at the Senior building. The students all had a blast and deux fois plutôt qu une! Curriculum Night was held on Thursday, September 11 th. It was a great opportunity for parents and teachers to start the year on the right foot as questions and concerns could be addressed right away. Our teachers are very fortunate to have so many parents present during their presentation. We had two recesses for the first week of school and we much enjoyed the exceptionally warm weather for September. We are back to a single regular morning recess but some changes were made with our recess schedule. The kindergarteners now have their outdoor break from 9:55 to 10:10 and Cycle one students have theirs from 10:15-10:30. This new setting offers students more playing space.
