This is my summary of what I ve done w/ the website in the last month: Meeting Changes Conscious Contact (Sunday) moved to:
4 Unity of Bay City 3736 State Street Road Bay City, MI Changed Twelve Steps forward (Mt. Pleasant) to 7:00PM Monday night How it Works in Midland to Aldersgate Methodist Church Posted printed meeting list (SBASCNA_January6_2015.pdf) Misc Changes Posted SBASCNA December 13, 2014 minutes (ASCDec2014.pdf) ILS, Jason G. Old Business: -There was a dispute about the wording in last month s minutes on the matter of the ASC Prudent Reserve. For clarification, the ASC RECOMMENDED that the Prudent Reserve be set at $1700. This includes the $1100 already allocated for all of the Subcommittee s Prudent Reserves plus an additional $600 to hold back to cover 50% of three month s operating expenses. Just to repeat and make sure it is clear, PLEASE TAKE BACK TO YOUR HOMEGROUPS FOR A VOTE THAT THE ASC RECOMMENDS THAT WE SET A PRUDENT RESERVE OF $1700 TO ENSURE THE ASC ALWAYS HAS ENOUGH MONEY TO OPERATE. -Mike M brought forth a proposal from Region, asking the ASC whether or not the committee would recommend to hold MRCNA outside our Region. For instance, in the Metro Detroit Area instead, as this Region has many more suitable spots in which to host a MRCNA. The ASC voted to recommend to allow MRCNA to be held outside our Region. -A discussion was opened to allow GSRs to bring their homegroup s recommendations for how best to spend the ASC s surplus. Some suggestions included a free dance, donating to NAWS, spending money on literature for H&I, donating to MRCNA, spending money on literature for libraries, donating to the Retreat, and televising a public service announcement. New Business: -After all the discussion, the ASC decided to form an Ad-Hoc subcommittee to coordinate a onetime distribution of NA literature to correctional facilities which are located within the counties/geographic areas served by the SBASCNA. Bryan H. was appointed as Chair of this committee.
5 Open Floor: -Willard Y brought to the ASC s attention that there is a Traditions Workbook currently being worked on at the World level. He stated that the Literature Committee can review it, as well as any individual NA members. -Meeting was closed at 4:08 PM The next Area will be held on Saturday, February 21 st at 1:30 PM at St. Alban s in Bay City.
