6 PARENT INFORMATION: DAY CAMP KROC KREW CAMP COUNSELORS Our Kroc Krew day camp counselors are recruited from local colleges, where many of them are studying education, recreation, or child development. Most importantly, they love working with kids. All Kroc Krew counselors are certified in basic First Aid & CPR, receive extensive counselor training prior to the start of camp, and go through background checks as well as The Salvation Army s child protection training program. We maintain a ratio of no fewer than one adult counselor per 10 children at Camp Kroc. On field trips, groups are paired with at least one adult. FIELD TRIPS In addition to fun filled days at the Kroc Center, each week of camp includes an off-site adventure. Campers are grouped by age with ages 5-8 typically taking their field trips on Wednesdays and ages 9-12 on Thursdays. Parents will receive more specific information before each week s outing. LUNCH & SNACKS Nutritious, kid friendly lunches are provided for every full-day camper. The menu for each week will be sent in the weekly newsletter and posted at check-in. Campers are welcome to bring their own lunch if they do not like the meal that is offered. Our kitchen will provide a vegetarian option but we are not a gluten-free kitchen and cannot accommodate for all dietary restrictions. For questions, contact our Day Camp Manager, Alyson Rodriguez at ext 2021 or at Alyson_Rodriguez@usc.salvationarmy.org CAMPER GROUPS Campers are grouped by age and specific activities are targeted towards their age group. Requests for campers to be in specific groups may not be able to be accommodated. PARENT INFO Parents will receive a newsletter via before each week registered.
