Together, we recognize that summer is a critical time for all young people to learn, grow and explore new challenges that extend beyond the classroom. Build original prototypes, create motor-powered vehicles and take apart electronics to construct a pinball machine. 2 Program Carlisle Arts Learning Center s (CALC s) Summer Art Camp at Hope Station Ages/Grades 5 to 11 years old Brief The art camp at Hope Station gets the creative juices flowing. Program) Ages 12 to 15 years old (must have passed 5 th grade) CONNECT/ArtWorks! is a collaboration between Dickinson College and the Carlisle Arts Learning Center. The camp gives teens an opportunity to engage in and grow through Description creative summer programming. Emphasis is placed on the visual arts and their ability to positively change and enrich lives. Topics include: architecture, sculpture, photography, creative writing, natural art and curating an exhibit. Students will be exposed to a college setting and will eat lunch in Dickinson s Dining Hall. Program LEAF Project (Leadership Education And Farming) Ages/Grades years old Description LEAF is a farm-based youth employment program in which youth work alongside farmers and chefs in South Central PA. Produce is sold to area restaurants, donated into hunger relief, and used in a weekly cooking class with expert chefs. Youth participate in a variety of workshops on food systems, social justice and leadership.
