Calculating risks of developing long-term sickness leave. February 2010 May 2010: The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Geneva Intern, Technical Publications and Learning Team; Knowledge Management Unit; Strategy, Performance and Evaluation Cluster Assessment of the Global Fund s HIV portfolio: collecting and analyzing epidemiological and financial data from various sources including grant proposals data from the Global Fund, UNAIDS and WHO. Writing a progress report of the Global Fund regional results for Eastern Europe and Central Asia: description of the epidemiological situation regarding the three diseases in the region, key results by Global Fund supported programs in the region, the Global Fund investment in the region and the Global Fund s contribution to international targets in the region (See report here). Drafting publications within the field of HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria, among these a Global Fund produced article which compared the response to HIV/AIDS and most-at-risk-populations in Eastern Europe and Asia (Bridge et al, AIDS Sep;24 Suppl 3:S86-94.) In relation hereto, peer reviewing unpublished articles as well as participating in the final stages of the 2010 Global Fund Results Report (see report here). Participation in technical seminars and induction sessions, and received training in tuberculosis, malaria, HIV/AIDS, harm reduction, gender issues and health systems strengthening. August 2009 August 2010: Monday Morning Innovation Project assistant Participated in two large projects; Project: Vaccines as measures of prevention. Arranging a political hearing concerning the introduction of new vaccines in the Danish national vaccine programme and providing the scientific basis for three published articles regarding the epidemiology of vaccine preventable diseases, effectiveness & safety, cost-effectiveness and societal and economic consequences and barriers of introducing vaccines and immunization.

3 Project: Short sick leave. Dimensioning the societal and financial consequences of short sick leave. My tasks were mainly to search through the sick leave literature as well as validate and statistical data analysis of sick leave register data and developing the scope of the project. March 2009 June 2009: World Health Organization, Regional Office for Europe Intern, Communicable Diseases Unit, HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections Surveillance Team Sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS surveillance: collecting and validating data on sexually transmitted infections and HIV /AIDS from all member states of the WHO European Region, as well as obtaining supplemental data from publicly available sources; data analysis, systematic literature searches on vaccines and sexually transmitted infections, entering surveillance data into the infectious disease database (CISID) and report writing. Participation in two major events: European Immunization Week and the emergence of Influenza virus A(H1N1). Participating in meetings and conferences, as well as getting an impression of the field of communicable diseases by studying WHO reports and articles and assisting in the collection and validation of HIV/AIDS and STI data obtained by the WHO from member states. Writing an editorial response to the ethical use of research which was published in the journal Conscience. (See link p. 5) January 2007 April 2007: Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Zanzibar, Tanzania Intern Planning and conducting a study of the range and quality of Antenatal Care provided by public health facilities in Zanzibar. Data was collected by questionnaires and analyzed statistically. The study was conducted in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in Zanzibar and DANIDA. 4 Increasing awareness of the scarce resources experienced by health systems in developing countries. Among other projects I am arranging a conference on tropical medicine to be held in Copenhagen : Operation Dagsværk Cashier I was in charge of the finances of the local Operation Dagsværk network (a small NGO promoting education in low-income countries) in my high school, and was part of the leading team in fundraising, creating awareness of illiterate children in Nepal and organizing an event at the school with different happenings to raise money present: Danish Vietnamese association I have been a member of this small association since 1998, and I have written an article for the member magazine and helped in organizing the culture day which takes place every year, aiming to create awareness of Vietnam and Vietnamese culture as well as raising funds for hospital equipment.
