2 MAPLE FOREST KINDERGARTEN TO 5 TH GRADE PRESENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE MUSÉE DE SAINT-PIERRE MUSEUM It all starts with an introduction to the history of maple syrup production at Station A. The group will then head to Station B for a demonstration of the tools used to collect maple sap in olden days; these two stations are located behind the Sugar Shack Tent. Then, head to Station C in the Sugar Shack to roll maple taffy onto a stick. Enjoy the sweetness and stickiness of it all! Bring hand wipes. 3 TIBERT THE VOYAGEUR Kids Performance on Friday February 14 th Bonjour everybody! My name is Tibert and it's true, I used to be a voyageur! But now, in the future, I spend my time interpreting fur trade objects, storytelling, singing traditional French songs and playing music for people of all ages. I look forward to awakening a passion for history and French Canadian culture in all at the school program of Festival du Voyageur! Times: 11:25 a.m.; 1:30 p.m. Location: Pambian Tent Capacity: 200 ** THEATRE / CONCERT / MUSIC** MARIJO Kids Concert on February 18, 19, 20, & 21 Marijo is a singer-songwriter whose young-at-heart style leads her to integrate music and fun into everything she does. She carries with her loads of experience including seven years of teaching, four years of live show production and twelve years of stage experience. Marijo is simply passionate and captivating. Times: 11:25 a.m.; 1:30 p.m. Location: Pambian Tent Capacity: 200 ** CONCERT / MUSIC** 3 CIRQUE VOYAGEUR SHOW The circus arts have existed for centuries in countless cultures all around the world. With such a history, could a voyageur have brought them with him on his travels through the wilderness? How, or what, would a voyageur juggle? There s only one way to answer that question and that s with a show! Be sure to participate after the show and learn some circus arts like juggling, plate spinning, and more! Please see the School Program Voyageur Park Map for the locations of the following activities: BANNOCK ON THE FIRE Have a taste of this unleavened bread while sitting around a fire listening to a few old tales. SUGAR SHACK & WARM-UP TENT 9:15 a.m. until 2:50 p.m. Activities: face painting, checker boards, string games, Nine Man Morris game, thumb wrestling. Crafts: braided and macramé bracelets, braided woolen dolls, paper bead making. GAMES CIRCUIT 10 a.m. till 2:30 p.m. Includes: leg wrestling, tug-o-war, Ac Sa Raq (an Inuit game), jigging and thumb wrestling in the Sugar Shack. These games are found at different locations in the park. THE INTERNATIONAL SNOW SCULPTING SYMPOSIUM The snow sculptures are works of art created by internationally renowned artists. Please ensure that students stay off the snow sculptures. CIRQUE VOYAGEUR STILTWALKING 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. Keep your eyes peeled for this giant voyageur roaming Voyageur Park between 1:30 and 2:30 pm during the School Program hours.
