1 Upgrade Procedure For Parrot 3200LS-Color This document will help you in order to upgrade your Hands-free car kit over Bluetooth. Car kit upgrade is needed in order to add new phones compatibles, and new functionalities. You will find hereunder two different possibilities to upgrade over Bluetooth the Parrot 3200LS. Summary: 1. 2 1. Download the Parrot Flash Update Wizard First of all, you need to download the Download Parrot Flash Update Wizard (PFUW) from (Support -> Download). Once downloaded, run the setup icon and follow the instructions. 2. Your laptop is equipped with Windows XP Service Pack 2 - Run the PFUW shortcut (created on the desktop by the user) - The current version of the PFUW is displayed on the interface (for this one, it is ). 4 The PFUW automatically connects to Parrot s web site, and will download the files needed to upgrade the car kit. Select OK. The PFUW downloads the binary files from Parrot s web site Parrot Upgrade Procedure for Parrot 3200LS v1.1 4

5 Once the files have been downloaded, press on the Start button to continue the process. Using Windows XP SP2 and a laptop with Bluetooth built-in, you will be able to select Bluetooth Connection in order to flash the car kit using the Bluetooth of the laptop (no Bluetooth dongle needed) Parrot Upgrade Procedure for Parrot 3200LS v1.1 5

6 On the car kit, you have to active the Software Update Mode. Navigate to Settings -> Software Update. A PIN code will be displayed. Memorise it. Click on Search Devices in order to launch an inquiry for Bluetooth devices in range. Parrot Upgrade Procedure for Parrot 3200LS v1.1 6

9 The two devices (the laptop and the car kit) are now paired, the process can continue. Then, do not switch off the ignition of the car, and wait until the end of the process: Car kit authentification, Software verification, Flash Erasing and finally Software Update. 10 Once flashed to the latest version, the car kit will automatically reboot. If not, switch off the ignition, wait for a few minutes, and switch on again the engine. Synchronized contacts, Voice Tags and Pictures are deleted. On your laptop, you can close the PFUW. Now, you can check your car kit has been upgraded to the latest version: check Settings -> Information. The Parrot 3200LS is now ready to be paired. Please refer to Support, On Line Help Files. On your laptop, you can close the PFUW. Now, you can check your car kit has been upgraded to the latest version: check Settings -> Information.

16 Once found, select your 3200LS car kit. Once selected, click on Explore Services Parrot Upgrade Procedure for Parrot 3200LS v1.1 16

17 The Belkin software will ask you to secure the connection. Enter the Bluetooth PIN code displayed on the 3200LS display (here it is 4636). The PC and the car kit are now paired. 18 Select Update for Parrot 3200LS. A green double arrow will appear on the update icon. It means the Bluetooth connection is established. Parrot Upgrade Procedure for Parrot 3200LS v1.1 18

19 Select Bluetooth Virtual Serial Connection. Then, you have to select the good port COM. In this example, it is number 5. Then click on NEXT. Parrot Upgrade Procedure for Parrot 3200LS v1.1 19

20 The PC is now flashing the memory over Bluetooth with the new software. Do not switch off the ignition until the end (imperative). Once terminated, the 3200LS will automatically reboot. If not, switch off the ignition, wait for a few minutes, and switch on again the engine. Now, you can check your car kit has been upgraded to the latest version: check Settings -> Information.
