18 1. Scope This document defines the requirements and technical specifications for the cat 6 UTP cable to be supplied to TelecomNamibia. 2. Cat 6 UTP Gable Technical Specifications a. The cable shall be suitable for indoor installation b. The cable electrical wires shall be made up of copper and shall be insulated c. The cable electrical wires shall be solid and flexible, and shall have a cylindrical shape d. The cable shall have four twisted wire pairs e. The cable twisted wire pairs shall have standard color codes f. The cable shall have a sheath around the four twisted wire pairs g. The cable shall provide performance of up to 250 MTIz and shall be suitable for I 3BASE-T, 1 Q0BASE-TX (Fast Ethernet) and I 000BASE-T/1 O00BASE-TX (Gigabit Ethernet) tl. l. The cable electrical wires shall have 100% tested wiring sequence continuity The cable insulated electrical wires shall be attached to the RI45 connectors without difficulties In addition to the specifications mentioned above, the cable shall comply with all specifications mentioned in table 1 on the next page Page2l of24

Test Samples The Tenderer shall submit as part of the tender test samples of five meter cable identical to the specifications mentioned in table 1 on page 4 attheit own cost. 4. Materials Tests The Tenderer shall submit as part of the tender in detail the proposed test methods and acceptance test procedures for approval by Telecom Namibia. 5. Quality Assurance and Factory Testing The Tenderer shall submit fulidetails of own Quality Assurance procedures, which shall ensure that the cable comply with internationally recognised standards mentioned in tabie 2 below and with other International recognised standards that might have been omitted in this document. The supplier shall specify the international standards adhered to and certification thereof shull b" provided to Telecom Namibia. A11 cables shall be tested during manufacture at the manufacturer's expense to ensure that the cables meet all specifications mentioned in table 1 on page 4. The supplier shall submit to Telecom Namibia, on or before the delivery of cables, detailed test reports for every delivered cable and for each production batch of cable, for attention: The Project Manager. Packing The cable shall be packed in lengths of 500m in easy pull boxes/reels. Page23 of24

21 I. Delivery The cable shall be offloaded at Telecom Namibia Main Store Southern Industry Windhoek and delivery cost shall be included in the bid. Tenderers shall strictly commit to planned delivery dates. Deliveries will be accepted from Monday through to Friday and no deliveries will be accepted on public holidays or weekends unless requested by Telecom Namibia. 8. Store Room The Tenderer shali have a store room locally in Namibia and shall reserve at least six rolls of cables at the store room for emergency purposes. 9. Gertification Training The Tenderer shall provide certification training to Telecom Namibia technicians. Each technician shaii go through hours of training and pass extensive written and hands-on testing. The certification training course shall be well-structured to ensure that the course meet basic industry standards and the certification training course shall include, but not limited to, recent most industry standard updates, hands-on installation techniques, review of cat 5, 5e and 6 cabling, residential standards and testing. The Tenderer shall provide an Associate Installer Certificate to Telecom Namibia. l0.quotations The Tenderer shall submit separate quotations as indicated below for considerations. a. Without additional marking. E.g. Only manufacture standard marking b. With additional marking. E.g. Telecom Namibia logo together With manufacture standard marking (optional) c. Without additional marking plus with Certification training (optional) d. With additional marking plus Certification training (optional) 1 1. Warranty i The cable shall carry a warranty, against poor design, manufacture erors and workmanship. The warranty period shall be stated in the commercial documents that accompany the bid.
