2 Solarize Point Breeze is a community-supported campaign under the Solarize Allegheny umbrella - funded by the Heinz Endowments and managed by non-profit organization SmartPower - to double the amount of solar energy throughout Allegheny County. Solarize Point Breeze is led by the Point Breeze Organization. The Solar Home Tour a great opportunity to meet current solar home owners and ask them about their experience with purchasing solar and generating their own clean electricity. Stop by any of the homes during the tour hours and watch electric meters running backwards as the sun works for these homes. There is no cost for the tour. Solarize Allegheny will connect residents and businesses to local, pre-screened, qualified solar installers who will offer competitive bids, guidance and help them get solar on their homes and businesses. 4 7211 Thomas Boulevard (#1) Fred Kraybill and his partners at the Thomas Blvd. Group installed the first part of their solar installation in This 7.28 kw roof mounted system provided some of the electricity for the building, but Fred asked what more could be done. Early on, I switched to a supplier using wind power, but knew that local generation is much more efficient. We had 20 panels installed for 6.9 kw and now we are generating more than we're using.

And the microinverters enable us to monitor the performance of each panel. So far, we ve offset over nine tons of carbon dioxide relative to coal-fired power with our panels.
