3 Aims Click 4 health is an intergenerational project through NUSHO*. Click 4 Health promotes healthy eating, physical activity and staying healthy in later life for older people (over 65s). It promotes healthy eating, physical activity, and well-being through: Computer skills training to allow participants to surf health and nutrition websites and develop methods for self-care and management of health and well-being. Group walking (monitored with pedometers) Preparation of healthy snacks Older people will be supported by young people throughout the sessions.

7 Outcomes sought by Well London Improved Mental Health and well being and more positive community perspectives on mental health and wellbeing. Increased opportunities for and uptake of healthy eating choices; including enhanced access to affordable healthy foods. Increased opportunities for and levels of healthy physical activity. Community development working to develop the capacity of communities to identify and address their own needs Tangible and sustainable changes in policy & practice across London
8 So how did we do? On average 70% attendance each session by learners & mentors Learners have surfed the internet for healthy eating websites Learners have a Gmail address and have sent and received an Learners have made a Skype call 1 to 1 and in Groups Learners keep track of their physical activity via pedometers for step counting Learners and mentors have made new friends!!

12 Lessons learnt Communication be precise and take nothing for granted! Administration be very organised! Keep learners and mentors keen one hour session is about right in length. Time for socialising is as important as the IT lessons!

14 Next Steps There is a demand for this kind of programme lots of interest shown within the borough and neighbouring boroughs. Consider ways and funding for more Click 4 Health programmes. Rewards and incentives for young mentors they made all the difference. NUSHO has had an excellent experience of partnership working with Newham & NCCG and should continue. A Celebration end of project event will take place in Stratford Library at 2.30 to 4.30pm on 10 July 2014 you are welcome to attend.
