And just as employees may need motivation to improve their work performance, they need motivation to improve their health. Think of Healthy Lifestyles Rewards as an investment in your employees and in the long-term health of your company. A new approach to wellness Since developing healthy habits can be difficult, we ve created a program to make it easier. Healthy Lifestyles Rewards is an incentive-based program that is easy for you to implement and easy for your employees to join. It s about prevention. It s about long-term change. It s about creating a healthier lifestyle. And it s coordinated with your health plan coverage when you select a high deductible health plan, including plans paired with a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) or plans that are Health Savings Account (HSA) qualified, from the Blue Solutions product portfolios. For our small employers, we have designed Healthy Lifestyles Rewards to help you get the most out of our affordable high deductible plans. When paired with a spending account, our incentive program maximizes your investment in your employees. Here s how it works: Select a high deductible health plan for your employees. In past years, you have passed your premium savings from choosing a high deductible plan on to your employees by funding half of their deductible through an HRA. Now, when you pair Healthy Lifestyles Rewards with a high deductible health plan, including plans paired with a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) or plans that are Health Savings Account (HSA) qualified, your employees must earn their deductible contribution by engaging in healthy behaviors. The more they participate in the program, the more dollars they earn in their spending account! Healthy Lifestyles Rewards is specifically designed to offer incentives that encourage the right balance of activities, including: health assessments physical fitness preventive screenings education losing weight annual checkups Eligible employees and their families* can work at their own pace and receive HealthPoints as they complete various activities. And the rewards are available for all participants, from those who consider themselves healthy to those who may already have health problems. Points accumulate to an annual maximum. Here are some of the ways your employees can earn points: Sample activities & points Complete a Personal Health Profile at ibxpress.com 50 Participate in nutrition counseling sessions 30 Get a colon cancer screening 25 Visit a primary care physician or OB/GYN 20 Complete two visits with a dentist 20 Get a mammogram 20 Donate blood at a Red Cross blood drive 15 Additional activities are included. * All employees with IBC managed care coverage are eligible. Their covered spouses and children age 18 and older may also participate.
3 On average, employee health care costs fall by $3.27 for every $1 spent on employee wellness programs. Rewards for your company The more your employees and their families participate in Healthy Lifestyles Rewards, the greater your return.
