4 Overview Monitoring activities revolve around three areas: Alarms, Calibrations, and Communications ACC. Alarms Acknowledge all alarms in a timely manner Calibrations Review calibrations daily when the unit is operating Communications Check to ensure the Data Controller and Polling Computer are communicating

10 Setting Alarm Row Color 1. Select Alarm Preference icon 2. Select alarm type. 3. Click the down arrow in the Color box to select desired color. 4. Click OK
11 Alarm Status Bar The Alarm Status bar at the bottom of the StackVision window displays the total number of alarms, regardless of the filters applied to the Active Alarms Panel.
12 Alarm Status Bar Located at the bottom of the StackVision window Continuous status of active alarms Clicking on the Alarm Status bar opens the Active Alarms Panel Data Alarm(s) -- The number of alarms related to Data conditions System Alarm(s) -- The number of active alarms related to the health of your system Application Alarm(s) -- The number of active alarms related to software errors (including error returned from automatic ProcessNow)
13 Alarm Acknowledgement Double-click on the selected alarm. Click the Acknowledge icon on the tool bar. Right-click the selected alarm and select Acknowledge.

21 System Monitoring: Using daily calibration error checks
22 Daily Calibration Daily calibrations must be run on all analyzers, opacity monitors and stack flow monitors at the following times: On any day the unit combusts fuel Within If a daily calibration test fails, the data collected from that hour forward 26 hours is marked after the out last of passed control until an online calibration online test calibration, passes. Important: Correct the problem and run a new calibration test as soon as possible. Eight clock hours of unit startup.
23 Daily Calibration Status Most users have a Calibration Detail Report automatically generated on a d basis. If you do not, you can perform the following steps to generate a Calibration Detail Report manually: To Check the Daily Calibration status from the Home task pane: Select CalLab from the Home task pane. Select the Parameters. Select the Date Range (either default dates or override dates). Click Retrieve. View calibration results

25 Calibration Detail Report The Calibration Detail report provides information about all calibration sequences including daily calibrations, interference checks and quarterly QA checks. The report includes the end date/time, reference value, actual response to the calibration and calibration error for zero and span levels. The Calibration Detail report also indicates the results of the calibration test by listing the calibration limit and whether the calibration passed or failed. The Calibration Detail report makes it easy to view your suspect calibrations by using default color coding for the problem values.
26 Calibration Trending Report This report provides the visual reference needed make decisions regarding adjustment and maintenance of the analyzers, and plan for allocation of resources. Since this is a historical document, you are visualizing past calibrations for comparison to current calibrations.
27 Color Legend Each trending chart will be graphed to relate calibration results. A legend is provided on each trend to indicate the actual results in a linear fashion. Green is the reference value Blue is the Actual CEMS value Green and brown are the Out of Control (OOC) values (upper and lower respectively) Gray is the Maintenance Limit value (upper and lower)
28 System Monitoring: Communications
29 Communications Status When monitoring your system s performance, it is important to ensure that the StackVision server is communicating with the data controller(s). These checks can be accomplished by accessing several StackVision utilities and functions, including Console Viewer Data Controller Panel Active Alarm Panel Average Data Report Terminal Access (Emulation)
30 Consoles Verify communications through the Console Viewer by noting that the StackVision server is receiving polled values from the data controller.
31 CEMSCape Data Controller Panel Check the Data Controller panel in CEMScape to verify polling averages. If no communication is occurring, the Retrieval Status boxes will be red. Communications are indicated by green Retrieval Status boxes; make sure that displays for Average 1, Average 2 and Calibration reflect the most recent dates and times of retrievals.
32 System Alarms Check for any communication (system) problems in the Active Alarm pane by selecting the System tab.
33 Emulation The ability to access the data controller from StackVision is helpful for troubleshooting the system. Controller Emulation provides the same functionality as the Data Controller
34 Average Data Report Check the Average Data report. This report reflects any communication problems that may affect the system.
35 System Monitoring: Using the LogBook Feature
36 Launching LogBook LogBook can be launched in two ways: Select Tools from the task bar and choose LogBook from the drop down menu From the Tools section of Task Explorer, select LogBook.
37 Viewing LogBook Entries The LogBook feature contains two tabs, Entries and Details. The Entries tab contains the basic date/time type and title of the various LogBook entries.
38 Viewing LogBook Entries The Details Tab contains the details of each entry, starting with the initial entry, source, components, and attachments.
39 Adding LogBook Entries Begin by selecting the Add icon (located on the toolbar, or as a right click choice The LogBook Details screen will appear
40 Using the LogBook Use the Save icon to save the LogBook Entry. Once you have saved the entry you will be able to add attachments to the entry. Once you have saved the entry, you will not be able to delete it.
41 Append a LogBook Entry To append information, open the LogBook entry via the Details tab and click the Append button.
42 LogBook History Report The LogBook History Report can be accessed from the Reports menu via or the link on the details tab.
43 LogBook History Report The LogBook history provides sufficient details to meet logbook requirements in the CFR. The LogBook history can be exported to a printer, PDF, or spreadsheet.
