The solution involves developing an ASP.NET portal, C# class libraries, and Teradata DB structures from scratch. The unique twist on this project was being able to debatch semi-monthly prescription claims (upwards of 300,000) and process them independently while providing resubmit and custom reporting capabilities. The portal allows business users to view & tune reports, correct & resubmit errant claims, and monitor the jobs. Developed several prototypes for the development leads and presented strategy, guidance, and clarifications to management. By using Teradata and by leveraging existing processes in new ways, the prototypes developed includes: a company-wide Crystal Reports and Teradata Reporting framework that allows developers to deliver reports centrally instead of application by application, a new way to process invoices using Teradata and custom decoders that cut the manual processing time by 12 man-hours each day, a new way to process their daily, private credit card statements using Teradata DB technologies that saved 20 manhours per day. The DB solution comprises of processing well over a thousand files, using an external system database for human workflow. Assisted in the redesign and performance optimization for a number of DB objects. Main duties included assisting development team with tough debugs, fixing QA bugs, and researching business application impacts. Provided strategies for transaction compensation, DB query performance and locking issues, and quality assurance turnover. Responsible for complete DB builds and deployment. This system was designed to use Teradata as the means to allow companies to use web service calls to communicate with each other securely, effectively providing web-based hooks into the company's proprietary software that is used by 3 of the 5 major real estate title companies.
