3 Urban Lighting Management Optimise energy and maintenance costs of public street lighting Develop interactive software tools that collect data from different devices and sensors in order to manage the information and integrate all the different functionalities. The main goal is to optimise the maintenance costs and resources of public street lighting whilst improving the illumination conditions of the city. Increases energy efficiency Reduces consumption and maintenance costs Improves the illumination in the city

4 Automatic Adaptability of Luminous Intensity Adapt street lighting to real requirements Schedule the luminous intensity of the lighting points according to real requirements, adapting the luminous intensity to flow of people and cars and also to real degree of natural light and atmospheric conditions. Achieving a minimum level of illumination that improves the safety feeling with the minimum energy consumption. Makes a better use of energy resources and reduces the carbon footprint of the city. 5 Public Lighting as an Information System Use of smart public lighting management in order to ease other public services Use the illumination net in order to provide functions different to lighting, like for example to signpost accidents, full bins or free parking places close to a streetlight by increasing the luminous intensity of the lamps. 6 Attend to Requests about Illumination Request for services or incidences Develop a web / mobile service with the objective of attending to the request of different users, that on the one hand helps to improve the quality of the service and adapt it to the real needs, and on the other hand improves the maintenance works through the incidences detected by citizens. 7 Optimise the Illumination Nearby the City Reduce or increase the luminous intensity in city approaches Adapt the luminous intensity of streetlights in roads and highways approaches according to traffic density and environmental conditions. Schedule operating lighting patterns according to traffic predictions whilst allowing intensity levels modification when anomalous situations are detected. In roads and highways exits, increase the luminous intensity of streetlamps when a vehicle is detected and decrease it otherwise.
