3 2. Product description Principle function of the MSS- Sensors 171V62AQ New in the elobau machine safety product group is the sensor 171V62AQ. This is an M30 sensor in PBT material with a 2 normally open contact system and a Quickon connector. The seal on this Quickon connector plug is modified by elobau so that 2 cables can be inserted, enabling these sensors to be daisy- chained (similar to a bus- system). Several sensors can be interconnected (see connection example in section 7). The Quickon plug has the big advantage that you no longer need a defined cable length or a mating connector. On these Quickon connectors the individual wires are inserted directly into the clamp contacts (direct at the sensor) without the need to strip the insulation. By closing the connector cover the wires are fixed into the clamp contacts. Only the cable needs cutting to the prescribed length. This sensor you can operate with all elobau MSS central control units which have a 2 normally open contact system. You can reach up to category 4 according to the machine safety standard EN 954-1depending on the central control unit specified. This new sensor can be operated with the following elobau MSS central control units. The numbers of sensors per sensor input is dependent of the cable length and the cross section of the wire. General Information The MSS- sensor 171V62AQ and a 2 normally open contact system central control unit can reach up to category 4 according to the machine safety standard EN (in depending on the central control- unit specified). Ensure that all applicable European directives and national statutory requirements/directives are followed. The product must be used in the original state without any unauthorised changes or modifications. 4. Application The equipment is only to be used for the protection against safety hazards depending upon the safety assessment of individual machines. Potential customers include all general mechanical and electrical engineering industries. 5.
