Support Services for Education provides a wide range of services to schools and other educational providers promoting educational excellence for all the children and young people of Somerset and beyond. It has been demonstrated that when teachers and librarians work together, students achieve higher levels of literacy, reading, learning, problem solving and information and communication technology skills. Materials to support literacy and reading, helping every child become a reader through enjoyment, to create independent readers and readers for life. Resources include fiction boxes, author boxes, group reading materials, shared reading materials, genre collections, AVA resources, etc. An online catalogue of all the titles in the literacy collection is available. This gives a guide to year, band and level for each title. A range of support, information and guidance for literacy that will assist with literacy planning and delivery, the provision of resources and access to training and workshops. Inspiration and information on flexible, innovative and exciting library spaces and the management of the resources held within them.
