Day 1: CHICAGO Our tour begins as we depart Indiana. A relaxing drive brings us to Navy Pier in the heart of Chicago s lakefront. There s time for lunch on the pier before a local guide joins us to view many of Chicago s famous landmarks. After settling into our hotel, we enjoy a NBC2/WAWV Welcome Dinner. Our overnight accommodations are in a suburb of Chicago. L,D Day 2: LAMBEAU FIELD & FISH BOIL We travel through the scenic Wisconsin countryside to Green Bay and visit legendary Lambeau Field, home of the NFL s storied Green Bay football team. Experience the rich history of America s railroads at the National Railroad Museum. Explore fascinating displays and actual railroad cars including the Big Boy and Dwight D. Eisenhower s command car. We continue to picturesque Door County for two nights at the Bridgeport Resort in Sturgeon Bay. We are guests this evening at a fish boil a tradition of Door County s Scandinavian settlers. CB,D Day 3: DOOR COUNTY Enjoy a full day discovering Wisconsin s Door County, the Cape Cod of the Midwest. Door County has more miles of shoreline, more lighthouses and more state parks than any other county in the United States. Wave battered cliffs, sun kissed beaches, wooded retreats, quaint farms and lush orchards await us. We will travel into Peninsula State Park to tour the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, visit a local winery and have leisure time to Lambeau Field Mackinac Bridge explore the charming waterfront community of Fish Creek. Located along Sturgeon Bay s busy waterfront, the Door County Maritime Museum highlights the area s intriguing maritime roots. We explore the unique exhibits with a docent and learn about the rich shipping and fishing industries of the area. CB Day 4: MACKINAC ISLAND This morning we depart Sturgeon Bay and travel through Michigan s Upper Peninsula. Our route passes through evergreen and hardwood forests and along portions of Lake Michigan s scenic shoreline. Soon we approach the Straits of Mackinac, the waterway connecting Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. Here we drive across the Mackinac Bridge, one of the largest suspension bridges in the world. The bridge was opened in 1957 and connects Michigan s Eagle Bluff Lighthouse Keyword: wtwo Upper and Lower peninsulas. At the southern end of the bridge is Mackinaw City, where we board a high speed ferry for our crossing to Mackinac Island. This charming island is three miles long, two miles wide and transportation on the island is limited to carriage, bike, horse or foot! We have lodging for two wonderful evenings at the Lilac Tree Hotel on the island. CB Day 5: TOUR BY CARRIAGE We depart our hotel this morning by horse drawn carriage for a tour of the island. The island s Victorian architecture recalls a time of days gone by. Our carriage tour ends at the elegant Grand Hotel, where our lunch is the hotel s sumptuous Grand Buffet! This succulent feast includes garden fresh salads, savory cheeses, slow roasted meats, seafood and more than 20 varieties of fresh baked pastries. After lunch, there s time to unwind and enjoy the marvelous views of the Straits of Mackinac from the rocking chairs on the 660 foot porch. 6 Guaranteed Prices Holiday Vacations published tour prices are based on the rates known at the time of publication and are expected to be in effect at the time of departure. Once we have received your deposit, your price is guaranteed, and any subsequent price increase is at our expense. Reservations Make reservations well in advance. Space requested by phone will be held for five business days, pending receipt of the required deposit by mail, telephone or in person. Reservations made after the indicated final payment due date must be paid in full at the time of reservation. A Deposit Of $200 Per Person A deposit must accompany all reservation requests. Personal check, money order, Discover, MasterCard or VISA are acceptable forms of payment. The deposit is fully refundable prior to the final payment due date. Final Payment A balance due date and amount will be indicated on your tour invoice deposit receipt. We accept credit cards but appreciate final payments to be made by check or money order. Special Requests Individual requests must be made when booking. Requests for (non) smoking, special dietary needs, and adjoining, handicap accessible or other room types are subject to confirmation and cannot be guaranteed. Surcharges Included Tour prices are guaranteed and include airfare, federal taxes, airport security charges, airline segment fees, airport passenger facility charges and fuel surcharges, if applicable. International airfare also includes applicable airport fees and taxes assessed by individual countries. Airline luggage fees are an additional charge and are payable directly to the airlines at check-in. GENERAL INFORMATION Hazardous Materials Federal law forbids the carriage of hazardous materials aboard aircraft in your luggage or on your person. A violation can result in five years imprisonment and penalties of $250,000 or more (49 U.S.C. 5124). The availability of airline seats may be limited from each departure city. Holiday Vacations reserves the right to provide ground transportation to or from a larger or alternate airport. Award Miles Please be advised that some commercial airlines offer reduced award miles to travelers booked on a group reservation. Holiday Vacations is happy to submit your frequent flyer number to the airlines, but makes no guarantee that full mileage will be awarded. Tour Participation The ability to perform assorted levels of activity while traveling varies between each individual. Although we welcome your questions regarding the amount of activity on any tour, Holiday Vacations is unable to determine your travel health and fitness level. Please consult your doctor with questions when evaluating your ability to travel. Persons Needing Special Assistance Holiday Vacations does not provide personal attendant services. Any disability requiring special attention should be reported to us at the time you make your reservation. We will make reasonable attempts to accommodate special needs, but we are not responsible for any denial of services by carriers, hotels, restaurants, and other independent suppliers. Travelers requiring extraordinary assistance must be accompanied by a companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the necessary assistance. Children On Tour Children traveling on tour must be at least eight years old and accompanied by an adult. Reservation Changes Requests for changes in flight schedules, early or extended hotel stays or for other eligible components of the tour should be made prior to the final payment date. A nonrefundable processing fee of $50 per person will apply for any change requested prior to the final payment date and $100 per person for any change requested on or after the final payment date. These fees are in addition to any costs or penalties from suppliers. Insurance Holiday Vacations recognizes the value and importance of travel insurance for our customers. We offer an optional Travel Protection Plan, which includes accident and sickness coverage, baggage protection, trip interruption and cancellation insurance. An insurance brochure will be sent with your tour invoice deposit receipt or may be requested in advance. For your convenience, the insurance premium is included in the balance
7 due on your tour invoice. Processing fees for a voluntary change in airport departure or for other requested changes are not covered by this insurance. Insurance must be paid for on or before your final payment due date. Solo Travelers Holiday Vacations welcomes solo travelers. We will try to assist in arranging a roommate for any person wishing to share accommodations at the double occupancy tour rate. Should a shared arrangement not be available, the single price applies. Triple & Quad These accommodations are usually in rooms with two double beds. A rollaway bed or cot is subject to availability on a request basis. Reservation Name/Identification The requirement to collect your date of birth, gender and full name as it appears on the government issued photo identification you will use on your tour is federally mandated by the Transportation Security Administration. TSA s privacy policy as well as additional details, can be found at using the keywords Secure Flight. Passport Required (FOR INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL) Your Passport must be valid for 6 months from the end date of your tour. It is Holiday Vacations policy that all tours traveling outside of the United States require a valid U.S. Passport in the form of a Passport book. Passport cards and enhanced driver s licenses are NOT acceptable forms of identification for any Holiday Vacations tour traveling outside of the United States. Tour Documents Tour packets will be mailed at least ten days before your tour departure date. This material includes tour pickup location and time, a tour itinerary, hotel list and luggage tag. Gratuities Tips for all the included features of your tour (baggage handling, included meals, etc.) will be taken care of by your Tour Director. Tips for meals on your own or for other services are at your discretion. Customary tips for the Tour Director & Driver are on a voluntary basis and given individually. Suggested gratuities will be provided with your tour documents. Train Routes & Schedules Please note that train schedules and/or routes are subject to change by railroad passenger services. No liability shall be incurred by Holiday Vacations for subsequent changes to train schedules and/or routes. Cruise Line Charges Additional fees applied by the cruise lines are not included in your tour price. These fees include but are not limited to: daily service charge for cabin & wait staff, specialty restaurant cover charges and optional shore excursions. Luggage The cost of checking luggage with the airlines is the responsibility of each guest. An excess fee or Height handling charge may be collected by the airlines for each piece over the designated allowance and for oversize or overweight baggage. On tour, each person is allowed one suitcase which will be handled for you at hotels. In addition, you may carry a small bag aboard. Carry-on articles are the responsibility of each person. Carry-ons that do not fit in the overhead compartments may be charged as an additional piece of luggage. Additional pieces of luggage will be handled for you at hotels at a cost of $4 per bag, per day or at the cost specified for some tours.
