Established in 1978, SAT started operating the Galileo Galilei Airport on July 1, 1980, when the company through a partial concession, took replace of the Consorzio Aerostazione Civile of Pisa. The airport is located just 1 kilometre from Pisa Central Railway Station, from Pisa Central Station you can reach any destination of the Italian railway network. By the end of December 2015 the new fast and fully automatic connection PisaMover will link Pisa Airport to Pisa Central Station in 5/8 minutes every day, from 6 a.m. to p.m.. 24 Bologna Airport In May 2015, in order to improve the connectivity and intermodality, the Airport Holding Guglielmo Marconi Airport S.p.A. has signed a binding agreement with Marconi Express S.p.A., that the Marconi Express people mover connection is on track and will provided direct rail link between Central Station and Bologna Airport. The agreement provides an investment of 8.9 million euros. The infrastructure will be built by Marconi Express SpA, a special purpose entity formed to construct the works and manage the transport service. The Marconi Express is a monorail shuttle that will link the Guglielmo Marconi International Airport with the central railway station of Bologna, one of the most important nodes of the high-speed railway network of Italy. The distance of the trip is 5 km. It will take approximately 7 minutes and a half to get from one point to the other. The People Mover is designed to meet the expectations of air travellers and will contribute to the development of a key infrastructure for Bologna, the Marconi Airport.

26 Milan Malpensa Airport MXP-AT Railink The construction of the new rail link between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at Malpensa Airport is currently underway. This project is developed through a partnership between SEA and Ferrovie Nord Milano, with financial contributions from Italy s Ministry for Infrastructure and Transport and the Lombardy Region, and a 20% cofunding from the European Union. This new link, the first phase of the TEN-T (Trans- European Transport Networks) project called Accessibility to Malpensa from the North, is a fundamental step towards further connecting Malpensa to the rest of Europe. The T1-T2 link will considerably enhance the rail accessibility to Malpensa, specifically to Terminal 2, where flight traffic has constantly been on the rise, reaching 6 million passengers in 2013.
