3 DESCRIPTION GENESIS The project was launched in 2012 with the design agency W&Cie. The objective was to bring more brand identifiers in the lobby and answer to guests expectations who are looking for more unique and authentic experiences within hotels with personality and where warmly welcoming, professional hoteliers are thoroughly familiar with the local culture, and are able to advise guests. 3

4 DESCRIPTION STRENGTHS Offer to our guests a unique & differentiating experience IN HARMONY WITH PEOPLE AND PLACES. An opportunity to generate more revenue by optimizing the square meters and turning very functional spaces to open & attractive areas. In a series of Mercure hotels located close to stations, airports and major regional and national business hubs with strong nomadic guests attendance, the experience will go up to implementing an all-inclusive paid service on the basis of a flat fee half a day in a friendly shared working space named EasyWORK. 4

7 CONCEPTION The reception desk, which formed a barrier between the teams and the guests, is replaced with an approach based on friendlier, easier interaction. The receptionist is now a host who invites customers to the host table or to one of the comfortable lobby spaces that feel like home. 7

8 CONCEPTION This new concept is based on a modern & flexible renovation project designed to each hotel personality, combining new technology, and new brand identifiers in a very locally inspired atmosphere. A Brand Wall to showcase the brand and designed in a natural and qualitative material, locally relevant, adapted to the environment of the hotel and positioned on the customer path. 8

10 CONCEPTION This solution is for business people on the move and offers dedicated and modular work spaces complete with a light meal service, fax, printing, tea and coffee facilities and Internet access. This meets all needs: Solo, Duo, small informal meeting with 4 to 6 people tables. 10

11 COSTS & IMPLEMENTATION Costs: around / square meter Realizations Mercure Paris Gare de Lyon (pilot hotel EasyWork since December 2012), Mercure London Bridge (pilot hotel new lobby since April 2013), Mercure Paris Montmartre (new lobby since September 2013), Mercure Warsaw Centrum (new lobby since September 2013) Ongoing studies and 2014 projects 4 hotels in France, 4 hotels in the UK, 3 hotels in Germany, 2 hotels in Italy, 2 hotels in Russia, 1 hotel in the Netherlands, 1 hotel in Romania, and basically, all Mercure hotels flagships, renovations and upcoming openings. 11

12 PERFORMANCES The new lobby at the Mercure London Bridge generated: + 41% of restaurant revenue + 51% of Bar/Lounge Beverages revenue + 53% of Bar/Lounge Food revenue The EASYWORK concept 98 % of guest satisfaction Occupancy rate at 70% 12
