Day 3 - Aihole Pattadakal, also spelled Pattadakalu is a World Heritage site, a village and an important tourist centre in the state of Karnataka and is located on the left bank of the Malaprabha River in Bagalkot district and is 22 km from Badami and 514 km from Bangalore. It is 22 km from Badami and about 10 km from Aihole. Day 4 - Badami - The capital of the early Chalukyas, Badami is picturesquely situated at the mouth of a ravine between two rocky hills. Badami is famous for its four cave temples - all hewn out of sand stone on the precipice of a hill. The passenger coaches which were originally meant to be the personal railway coaches of the erstwhile rulers of princely states of Rajputana, Gujarat, the Nizam of Hyderabad and the Viceroy of British India. The name "Palace on Wheels" was derived from its royal back-ground of the coaches. 13 Elephant Festival Booking Conditions Making your Booking Once we have received your booking and all appropriate payments, we will, subject to availability, confirm your holiday by sending a booking confirmation letter / invoice. When you book through us the booking confirmation / invoice and all other documents will be sent you. Please check all your documents carefully. Contact us immediately if any information which appears on any document appears to be incorrect or incomplete as it may not be possible to make changes later. We regret we cannot accept any liability if we are not notified of any inaccuracy in any document within 21 days of our sending it out to you. A provisional booking can be made by phone but you must send the completed booking details and applicable payment within 07 days failing which the provisional booking will be automatically released by our system, and we need to be notified again if it is to be restored, else we will treat the booking as cancelled. Payment You must send us a completed booking form, the appropriate deposit per person (as detailed on the relevant tour page) or full payment if booking within 60 days of departure. The balance of the cost of your holiday must be paid 60 days before departure. If you are paying by credit card, an additional charge in percentage will apply (Processing fee 2.5% to 3.5% depending upon the type of card used). A minimum deposit is required for any booking (check our website - for payment policies). If we do not receive all payments in full and on time, we are entitled to assume that you wish to cancel your booking. In this case, we will be entitled to keep all deposits paid or due at that date. If we do not cancel straight away because you have promised to make payment, you must pay the cancellation charges depending on the date we reasonably treat your booking as cancelled. Modifications to your Booking Please inform us in writing if you wish to make any changes to your booking. Modifications requested 60 days or more prior to departure will be subject to a minimum modification fee with any costs or charges incurred or imposed on us by any of our suppliers. Modifications requested less than 60 days prior to departure will be regarded as a cancellation and cancellation charges will be payable.
