2 Recently completed research: Leader, an interdisciplinary project on Active citizenship and marginality in a European context, funded by the Welfare Research Programme of the Nordic Council of Ministers , and the Research Council of Norway ( ), involving scholars from the universities in Bremen (Germany), Copenhagen (Denmark), Leeds (United Kingdom), Växjö (Sweden), Reykjavik (Iceland), Tromsø & Trondheim (Norway), and STAKES Research Centre, Helsinki (Finland) Leader, an interdisciplinary research project on risk management of allergenicity and the case of introducing allergens with genetically modified (GM) food, funded by the Research Council of Norway, , with Dr (Biochemistry) Galina Gaivoronskaia as Research Fellow Member of leadership team/consultant, a project on Definitions of disability in Europe: a comparative project, funded by the European Commission , and directed by Drs Helen Bolderson & Deborah Mabbett (Brunel University, the United Kingdom), involving national experts and researchers from all (the then) member states of the EU (except Luxembourg) and Norway. Norwegian coordinator/member of Nordic leadership team, a comparative study of the restructuring of the Nordic welfare states, funded by the Nordic Council and directed by Drs Hannu Uusitalo & Mikko Kautto, STAKES Research Centre, Helsinki, Finland, involving researchers from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. Leader, a cross-national interdisciplinary study of disability and vocational rehabilitation policies in Austria, Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom, together with Drs Helen Bolderson (Brunel University) and Michael Floyd (City University, , funded by the University of Trondheim, the Research Council of Norway, the European Science Foundation, and involving researchers from the countries mentioned. Leader/Coordinator, an interdisciplinary research programme on the impact of public policies on the situation of Romany people (Travellers) in Norway , funded by the Research Council of Norway, and involving researchers from the universities of Oslo and Trondheim, Leader, a project of self-organization among marginal groups in welfare society, especially organizations and groups based on the statuses of being unemployed, benefit or poor, funded by the Research Council of Norway, Teaching, supervisory and evaluator experience Have given and coordinated courses in sociological theory, methodology and social welfare & integration since the early 1990s (Oslo: , Trondheim: ), at all levels (Bachelor, Master and PhD) Have given courses on comparative social policy at master level at the universities of Umeå (Sweden 1999), Helsinki (Finland 2000) and Bremen (Germany ) Have supervised 25 Master and 10 PhD theses Have acted as member of evaluation committees and opponents at doctoral disputations at the universities of Oslo, Trondheim, Lund, Linköping and Copenhagen 2
