3 The survey about Christmas time in our city - Szczecin The survey was taken among 40 residents of our city and the results are: question 1 Is Szczecin, in your opinion, nicely decorated for Christmas? question 2 Which place in Szczecin is the most beautiful and characteristic with Christmas decoration? 3

7 Sport in Szczecin Pogoń Baltica after a very exciting and rich in surprising twists meeting defeated Olimpia Beskid Nowy Sacz 33:26. If someone wasn t watching the game and saw the same final result might get the impression that the Pogoń Baltica had an easy win. But it s not the truth. Baltica only in the last quarter of the game proved their superiority over female players of Małopolska. Sooner there was no indication that they could have such an impressive victory. 8 Pogoń Baltica has many fans. There is dancing group which is with Pogoń girls every time they play! Dancers support Pogoń Baltica dancing during matches eg during team timeouts and during breaks. By the way this little girl with dark hair in duo is our English teacher's daughter. 8

9 Christmas meetings in school On the 20th December classes in our school held Christmas Eve meetings. At 11 o' clock the students began preparing the classrooms for dinner. The students were singing carols, shared the wafer, wished each other great future and gave each other presents. After Chritmas meetings, everybody went off for Christmas Holidays with families. 9

10 Talents in our school Iza has been interested in Asian culture for 6 years: anime, manga, music from Japan and South Korea. She changed her views thanks to this passion. And her language is better. She is the author of "Polish Asian Style" fanpage on Facebook. Iza is going to develop her interests and is still looking for the new. 10

11 Coffee making course Coffee course lasted 30 hours. We learned there how to brew coffee, foam milk, how to distinguish between types of coffee based on appearance, aroma. We did a lot of types of coffee, from simple esspresso to coffee with whisky. Classes were held in a very relaxed and fun atmosphere. There were a lot of practical things although the theory was useful, too.. After the course and a practical and theoretical exams all the participants got certificates. 11

13 Rej's name day Mikołaj Rej of Nagłowice (born on February 5, 1505 died probably about September /October, 1569) was a Polish poet and writer of Renaissance in Poland. He was also politician and musician. He was the first Polish author to write completely in the Polish language. He is considered to be one of the founders of Polish literary language and literature. Mikołaj Rej is the patron of our school. We are very proud of it. Mikołaj Rej was a very important person in Polish history. December, 6 is in Poland Mikołaj's name day. In our school we celebrate this day every year. We want to show you how we do it. This year our students prepared special performance. In this performance actors presented different literature epochs starting with Ranaissance - epoch of Mikołaj Rej. Teachers and students could hear poems and texts which are very famous and important Polish literature. Later, they could see more and more modern times and nowadays. To show nowadays students presented their talents like 13

14 singing, playing instruments, dancing. That was for souls. But at the end...a surprise :-) Students from vocational cooking school came and showed everybody how to flambe bananas!!! Of course there was piece of banana for everybody :-) It was delicious!!! 14

16 AIDS performance 28 November doesn't say very much but...in secondary school number 12 was organised Przegląd Małych Grup Teatralnych - a contest for school acting groups from the whole pomeranian region. Mr Adam Grzegrzółka (a biology teacher) and Mr Joanna Przeobrażeńska (a Polish teacher) created a theatre group in our school and this group won the contest!!! The play was about prevention against HIV and AIDS. The audience could learn about clinics and places where people ban get help. Some days later westudents- could see this play in our school. It was really well done!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! 16

18 Christmas in the city 'Maciek, I love you! Look here!' - it was possible to hear such cries of teenagers on 15, December 2013 in Turzyn shopping centre in Szczecin. Maciek Musiał is a young actor loved by young people. Maciek plays in "Rodzinka.pl" - popular tv series. In the company of bodyguards, escaping from the crowds of teenagers, he came out and conducted some competitions. One of teenagers won lunch with Maciek. Unfortunately, the lunch was not in calm atmosphere because all the fans gathered around the restaurant watching Maciek and his company. I was there but nearly crushed!!! Anyway, that was interesting experience :-) 18
