A subscriber for 2013, 2014 and 2015 who does not renew for 2016 can receive perpetual access to the relevant content published in final volume form during 2013, 2014 and 2015 (this is not automatic and must be requested when confirming non-renewal). Note that Online First articles not published in final volume form by the end of a calendar year are not included in this right to perpetual access. This does not apply to Special Publication Archival access products. A pre-2008 subscription does not entitle a user to access Lyell hosted past content. For subscriptions previous to 2008 the print copy was the copy of record and electronic access was a free add-on. Once a subscription lapsed, electronic access was switched off. We have partnered with CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) to ensure that all 26,000 articles available on the Lyell Collection are stored safely and securely online. Open Access articles Annual subscription rates for Lyell Collection titles include a discount proportional to the Open Access fees received in the previous 12 months. The calculations for the 2016 rates are provided on the Society website - GeoScience World There is some overlap between the journal content on Lyell Collection and GeoScienceWorld (GSW). However, no book content is available on GeoScienceWorld by subscription and the deep Journal of the Geological Society archival material (QJGS, 1845 to 1970) and volumes prior to 2000 for Proceedings of the Yorkshire Geological Society, Scottish Journal of Geology and Journal of Micropalaeontology are only available via the Lyell Collection. Subscriber ids for Lyell Collection subscriptions (and IPs registered for Lyell access) are not accepted for GeoScienceWorld content. GeoScienceWorld ( is also hosted by HighWire Press so the sites have a similar format. Page 7 of 7
