A few of our Customers Heavy Truck Refuse Bus / Transit End-Users 5

Range on Natural Gas Start with basic vehicle size, weight, operating profile Use familiar gasoline or diesel range as a baseline Consider Useable on-board fuel LNG vs. CNG CNG Filling method Type of natural gas engine is also a factor Compression ignition (dual fuel) will have diesel like thermal efficiency per gallon (DGE) Spark Ignited has 5-15% less thermal efficiency as compared to compression ignition Engine is indifferent to CNG or LNG 6

Range on Natural Gas unit BTU Gasoline I gallon 115,400 Diesel 1 gallon 128,700 CNG 1 SCF 960 LNG 1 gallon 84,820 CNG SCF Pounds Gasoline Gallon Equivalent (GGE) Diesel Gallon Equivalent (DGE) LNG (LCNG) Gallons (cold) Pounds Gasoline Gallon Equivalent (GGE) Diesel Gallon Equivalent (DGE)

Liquid Natural Gas Typical vehicle installation carries from 72 to 150 gross LNG gallon capacity ~ 10% vapor space reserve ~ 10% expansion of cold LNG * Can use virtually all of the tank contents Tank pressure is not indicative of tank content level 1.7 cold LNG gallons per DGE Net usable DGE gallons is about half the gross LNG gallons 8

Gross versus Net usable CNG Typical Vehicle installation carries 5-25 gross GGE for light duty gross DGE for medium- heavy duty Extremely difficult to completely fill or empty a CNG system Filling is inhibited by the heat of compression Ability to empty system is limited by the pressure drops in the system between the tank and the engine Pressure is indicative of tank gross content Not net Also need to consider effect of temperature 9

120 DGE Behind the Cab System 10

Filling with CNG Full: 3600# psi at 70 F

Fast filling CNG Fast filling considerations Ambient temperature Speed of filling Amount of residual fuel in the tank at the start of filling Complexity of the system between the compressors and the vehicle storage tanks Direct compression or buffer filling Cooling versus chilling the compressed gas Number and size of vehicle storage tanks Intelligence of the dispenser logic Potentially the type of tank No vehicle or filling situation is average but: Today we can expect the typical fast fill is 75-85% full Tomorrow we can look for 90+% full 12

What is a empty CNG system? Empty considerations Empty is indicated by a preset engine pressure senor Can vary widely by engine Will trigger quicker with transient loading Generally still has reasonable time at full power Generally can still go further at reduced load The complexity of the system between the fuel tanks and the engine is the key consideration Ambient temperature is a factor No vehicle operating scenario is average but: Today s lower limits are psi tank pressure before the engine light is triggered (5-10% fuel remain in the tanks) Tomorrow those numbers will be cut in half. 13

Range on Natural Gas guidelines - today LNG Use half the gross LNG gallon tank capacity to approximate DGE and decrease range by 5-15% for a SING engine as compared to diesel. CNG Allow 5-15% efficiency and range loss for the SING engine Expect the low pressure light with 5-10% left in the tanks When fast filling 5-25% short-fill 14
